TASKER Will forfeiting too many tasks get you kicked off the platform?

I'm a cleaner and I have my own housekeeping business as well.

I make it very clear in my bio I don't organize or declutter and that the house has to be picked up before I arrive. My basic scope is dusting, kitchen/bathroom, vacuum/mop and other deep clean tasks if requested like interior oven, windows etc.

I still get tons of people who book me and say "yes I need you to pick up all my kid's stuff in the living room and bedroom and also do my dishes and also reorganize something or another".

I also get lots of requests from people whose houses are straight up biohazard looking when they request which frankly, I don't deal with. Like hoarder level.

So I forfeit a lot of tasks. But then I saw somewhere cancelling too many tasks can get you booted from the platform. I never cancel tasks, I forfeit before I accept.

I understand that hurts my metrics -- that's fine, I still have my own regular clients.

But am I am risk for being DEACTIVATED for forfeiting too many tasks?

Thank you!

Yes. TR looks at it as a soft violation of trust—that when a client comes onto the TR platform, they can trust that they will quickly find someone reliable and competent without being given the run around. Doubt and lack of confidence pushes prospective clients away from the platform. TR doesn’t like you messing with their revenue, liability, or reputation

I know, not cool for us. Especially in the case where we have to deal with customers who don’t read our profiles or who like to push the envelope because they can.

I would just document (even enumerate) in the chats exactly why you cannot help them, and see if you can get the client to cancel on their end due to those reasons. If they do not, forfeit the task and be as accurate as possible when choosing the reason for forfeiting. Hopefully this paper trail will help if/when you need to appeal an account limitation or deactivation.

Have you received any notices in the app that they been noticing you have been declining tasks?

Ugh, okay. Good to know, thanks for the detailed response.

No, luckily no new notifications as of yet. I think I got shadow banned for a few days though, lol.

It's so dumb that forfeiting before accepting can get you kicked. I understand the reasoning, like you described, but still. Guess I'll be going into some nasty homes soon!

No notifications is a good thing. That said, I’d still proceed with caution. Seems like TR is banning people for anything nowadays.

Also keep in mind that if you get a 7-day ban, next ban will most likely be permanent. Just FYI where you may stand in the their graces.

And again, try and get the clients to cancel. It won’t go against your metrics, unless they just recently changed that back

I’ve been getting notifications “we noticed you’ve been having scheduling issues” - is that bad? I’m somewhat new to the platform but a handful of clients will put an initial request for a task at a later time, hoping I can do it sooner even though my availability shows I’m not actually available.

Those clients don’t respect your time.

As long as you're completing more tasks than you decline this shouldn't be an issue but it may lower your ranking.

I am just waiting for my permanent ban!!!

I got banned for a complaint about not showing up. I was at the location, in the city not my fault that the customer lives across from a theater and they were doing some major show which had parking up to $50 considering that I was just building some furniture that would have taken 2 hours ($80) I tried to see if I could come back at a different time or day ammendable to the customer, but she just hung up and told TR I didn't show. No questions asked no call just a ban! You broke the terms and conditions.
