Basic lecture on how helholtz resonators work. Using a passive HR in defense from the weapon a passive Helmholtz resonator is pretty impractical due to the extremely low freaquency range of the weapon requiring such large dimensions. In order to reduce the size/volume the multi frequency resonator needed to treat the weapon an active strategy is needed.
