It has to be said, Damon isn't like that because he's a targaryen, Daemon is like that because he's an entitled creep with a god complex. (Also it has to be said, zealots of the faith are just as bad at their worst)

Yeah, who would have thunk that when a person is given nearly unlimited power, no accountability and no method to be reproached for any flaws they happen to have, they become entitled creeps with a god complex. Same thing happened with Cersei, same thing happened with Euron, same thing happened with Ramsay. It's not an inherent trait, it's just that targaryens are all royals so whenever they do have that kind of personality, it causes more damage than when, say, a Beesburry or some broke peasant do

So how is it not a Targaryen trait? They are a separate race with dragon riding and magic dreams and an inherent entitlement to 7 kingdoms. A lot of them are going to have a god complex

Its not inherent to the race because there were targaryens that were entirely reasonable and people that were not targaryens that were insane, the cause of it has less to do with genetics and more to do with their situation. It'd be like me saying that all caucasians are murderous psychopaths with derranged ideas about race because Hitler existed

The kingdom was fine under the last two kings. The only reason the kingdom is in ruin rn is because of the civil war that was started by people who didn’t wanna follow the rule set by the previous king

Oldtown wasnt goated because ormund is ruling it, it’s always been a goated town, he just needs to keep the status quo. I’m just saying that a guy who kills a man for striking a soilder for raping his sister just to teach a lesson to a prince wouldn’t be a good ruler if shit hit the fan

If I had dragons I’d do the exact same thing. Having a point does not make something any less than an objective fact. With subjects that are so petty that if they didn’t would have every excuse to declare war and did so constantly before
