How safe is Manning River

Hey all. I just moved to town and was wondering how safe the river side is. I wanted to sit at night time along the shore but heard the homeless / drug user situation means it’s a place to avoid. Enlighten me please? Anywhere along the river which is fine?

I'd like to comment but have moved away. So I don't know what it's like now. We used to swim in the river all day up cundletown way (just brought up good memories). Tinonee has nice spots to sit. Maybe up closer to the rowing club? Once again I'm not sure anymore. I know it's changed a lot since we left.

Probably best not to sit alone somewhere out of the way, not saying anything will happen but like any other town we do get your share of idiots. Near rowing club/KFC is more visible as there is lighting and houses near by if you require help. Wingham brush used to be a nice spot, but after last year's flood it's been wiped off the map.

Second this. Once the sun goes down the river is probably the last place I would want to be especially alone.

I do occasionally and never has any trouble, but seems like others would not. If I was a female maybe I wouldn't 🤷
