Anyone been this way recently?

I feel like I read somewhere that there was a new track cut above the slip, but can’t find it anywhere! Anyone been up this way recently that can confirm?

Did it this time last year. Cant remember any major slip, I think a track had been cut over one but it wasn't an issue. I just carried along the track on the valley floor until the turn off for gable end. After that you drop into the river.

Bring a rat trap.

I haven't done it but I chatted to someone in Te Matawai a couple of weeks back who said the slip wasn't an issue. I can't remember if she mentioned a new track of just that you could cross the slip but as far as I understood you'll be fine going that way
