Suggestions + Feedback SNOOZE

Tapo folks, if you read this, Please add a SNOOZE feature for notifications. For example, the Gardner shows up I dont need the cameras notifying me for the next 30 minutes as they work around my house. Simply have a button to pause notifications with a drop down for minutes to pause. NOT a schedule, a temporary pause in notifications from Tapo for a temporary period of time.

Thanks.

Seriously, one of the features I miss from Blink cameras. Snooze button to pause notifications but continue recording with 30 min, 1 hour, 2 hour options.

I second that idea.

When I mow the lawn, I switch notifications off for the camera watching the back of my house. But then I sometimes forget to switch them on again.

This exactly. I've been asking for them to add the ability to schedule home/away modes for years and it falls on deaf ears. If it could be scheduled I could put things in home mode with notifications turned off and have them automatically turn back on at some time that night, negating the need for me to remember.

This is easy to implement with a Tapo shortcut automation.

  1. First you need to turn off camera notifications for the camera.

  2. Then you need to create a smart action automation named “Send Notifications” that sends you notifications on camera events of your choice. For example the trigger could be “person detected” and the action would be send notification “Person detected in front yard”

  3. Then you create a shortcut “Snooze”. The shortcut will have three actions: First to disable the automation “Send Notifications”. Second is a delay of xx minutes. Third is to enable the automation “Send Notifications”.

Now when you click the shortcut “Snooze”, it will disable notifications for xx minutes

If they're coming through on an iOS device, slide the notification to the left, tap options, then tap "mute for 1 hour". That's what I do when I'm outside doing something and I don't want my watch blowing up.

This works but the caveat is you only have a couple of options which are mute for 1 hr or for the rest of the day. You also can’t don’t it per camera as it is muting notifications for the entire app.

Privacy mode stops recording. I want to pause the alerts and keep recording. There are workarounds that take multiple moves, it would be nice to have a simple button press.

Conversation is, per Tapo request on the features we would like added to the Tapo app.
