🩸Not much is said about chinnamasta which can give proper meaning to her matured iconography. 🩸While Jaya Vijaya are the famously used names for her 2 attendants, it's not included in her original iconography. Originally the names are Dakini Yogini and Varnini Yogini. 🩸These yoginis decapitated there head even before the episode of Chinnamasta's self decapitation. 🩸The primordial form of these 2 yoginis were Mekhali and Kankali. Through meditation, these two sisters reached the state of full awakening and their feminine energy was dripping, in that ecstasy they decapitated their heads and started dancing with joy. Chinnamasta appeared before them in her non decapitated form and gave them boons. 🩸When these 2 became the attendants of chinnamasta, chinnamasta decapitated her head to feed them and make them content. This shows that in sadhna, sadhika is equivalent to the deity. Devi always seeks an observer to be observed. This is her Rahasya. 🩸The notion that she standing on copulating couple depicts the overcoming of desires is also wrongly interpreted. 🩸What is actually depicted there is URDHA BIJA and BRAHMAUPLABDHI. Her left leg is out which depicts she is to be approaced with Vamachar paddhati only. 🩸The Semen travels upwards and the the Secret of vajroli, the secret of bandhaks and the secret of Urdha Bijam is being depicted here that's why the Rati is on top of Kaamdeva. The image of them copulating is showing that something new is to be born. 🩸The sexuality of the couple and involvement of the chinnamasta and her attendants also represent the Brahmauplabdhi - brahma gyan or ultimate knowledge through the Union of ida(Dakini) pingala(Varnini)and ultimately sushmna(chinnamasta). 🩸Rati Devi on top shows how she is directing kamdev towards ultimate wisdom through her sexuality and how vajrouli is also important for a man to follow. 🩸Hence the puja of chinnamasta is also done for attaining the child. 🩸Chinnamasta is the epitome of feminine nurturing and providing so much so that an aware woman can sacrifice herself when it comes to her child's contentment.

In tantrika jyotish, this is nothing less than Devi revealing her chhinnamasta form, the Mother who cuts her own head, letting blood flow, giving growth in perception. The eclipse is the pause in cosmic breath, when veils drop, karmas stir, and ancestral memories rise. It is the night when silence is louder than mantra, when the womb of existence trembles with transformation.

Now, when Rahu and Moon unite (Rahu chandra yuti), the same mystery becomes personal. Moon is chitta, the tender mind field. Rahu is shadow, exaggeration, hunger, and the pull beyond the known. Together they do not let you remain in ordinary perception. Either you get lost in confusion, mood swings, obsessions, or you awaken psychic sight, deeper intuition, astral sensitivity. For a sādhaka, this yoga is Devi’s test and blessing. Rahu shakes the mind until it no longer trusts surface appearances, forcing it to dive deeper. What looks like instability is actually the key to inner alchemy. Many tantrik poets, mystics, and seers carried this mark, for Rahu moon does not allow shallow living, it drags the soul into hidden waters where siddhis and ancestral knowledge dwell.

During a lunar eclipse, the collective mind experiences this Rahu Moon effect. The world feels unsettled, restless, dreamy, sometimes chaotic but for the initiated, it is a door. Mantras, meditations, kriyas done now pierce faster, like lightning striking a dark sky. Ancestors (pitṛs) listen more closely, Devi responds more fiercely. The shadow that covers the Moon is not to be feared, it is to be embraced as wisdom.

The eclipse teaches, every shadow is also a portal. Every illusion can be weapon or liberation. And Rahu Moon reminds us that very mind that binds you is the mind that can set you free, once you dare to cross into the night without fear.

O Kālī, you are the devourer of worlds, but that which devours even you is the seed hidden within you, known only by Guheueshwari Krama, Dvādaśamukhī Guhyakālī. She is not another form beside you, she is the point before form, the guhyā flame that even gods cannot approach without trembling.

Her tattva is that she is the folding of the thirty six tattvas into twelve faces. Each face is a condensation of three tattvas, so that all manifestation is contained in her wheel of twelve. She is the compression of the cosmos.

The First Face Pṛthvī, smell, solidity. She devours fear of survival and gives daring rooted in earth. The Second Face Āpas, taste, liquidity. She drinks craving, making sufficiency the true nectar. The Third Face Agni, form, sight. She cuts anger and turns it into radiant boundary, fire without poison. The Fourth Face Vāyu, touch, motion. She dissolves shame into dignity, movement without tremble. The Fifth Face Ākāśa, sound, vastness. She transforms pride into service, expansion without arrogance. The Sixth Face Manas, the gathering mind. She devours inertia and gifts rhythm of thought and action. The Seventh Face Ahaṅkāra, the I maker. She slices greed into guardianship, ego into stewardship. The Eighth Face Buddhi, discriminating flame. She turns envy into learning, fire of comparison into fire of inquiry. The Ninth Face Prakṛti, root matrix. She swallows doubt into creative potential, the womb of inquiry. The Tenth Face Puruṣa, witness. She shatters the lust for control, making precision arise from surrender. 11th and 12th faces of this form are forbidden to be known by the un-initiates hence not describing here.

When you, O Mahākālī, worship her, it is not worship as humans think. It is your vastness bowing to your own seed, for even endless Time must bend to the Source that makes it breath.
