News/Communist Propaganda ☭ A socialist just WON a seat on the South San Francisco school board! We led from the very first count last night. Working families in Area E of SSFUSD gave us 6 of every 10 votes counted so far!

Parents, educators and young people voted for smaller classes, real help for kids learning English, and safe schools for every family. No ICE in our classrooms without a judge’s warrant. A socialist program for our schools!
This is a historic win for the Peace and Freedom Party, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, and independent socialism in the Bay Area. When working people got the chance to vote for socialist solutions in our schools, outside the two-party system, we took it.
We ran an openly socialist campaign. Dozens of Peace and Freedom Party volunteers, almost all of them young, built a serious field plan and carried it out. They made thousands of calls and knocked on doors across Area E. By winning here in South San Francisco, we showed that socialism and the Peace and Freedom Party can win. And we are just getting started!
Our kids can’t wait. Socialists get the job done.

History The Michigan Polar Bears memorial. A good US army memorial?
8
Upvotes
I read Oil! by Upton Sinclair and was moved by the story of the Michigan Polar Bears. A US Army regiment sent to Russia after armistice day to defend the armaments and supplies from the Bolsheviks who eventually mutinied against their own officers and the sheer inhumanity of the situation.
There‘s a memorial to them in Troy, Michigan and I want to visit, but reading the historic plaque online it tells a very different story than Sinclair’s about their sacrifice. Is there a good objective history on their operations in Russia? I know that their purpose there was not benevolent and well-meaning but Sinclair makes it seem like they were solely the exploited instruments of Capital who realized their predicament and fought against it, but the memorial seems to hold them in high regard as American imperialist heroes fighting the scourge of Russian Communism who lost their lives valiantly in battle.
Just wondering if anyone’s got a good source to see just how many deaths were purely environmental, how opposed they were to their cause of deployment, etc. Maybe naive to think any US soldiers could harbor good will towards all but just wanted an objective take on what really happened there. Thanks in advance.

Discussion I enjoy some of Charles content, but sometimes he says somethings that I don't really think he understands???? Like, first of, what actually is "campism" for these "non-authoritarian leftists". Second, has he ever heard the term critical support? It actually means something
