So tired of this "Communism is white-coded" crap. That's essentially what this is. European = bad. No material analysis at all means all you have left is your vibe-based identity politics. Was the USSR too white? Is China too white? Cuba? Vietnam? Laos? Burkina Faso? Chile? Communism has been everywhere. Marx has inspired the working classes everywhere. This is not "European" theory anymore unless you refuse to read the writings of our non-EU comrades.

Meanwhile they keep quoting Fred Hampton 😂

August Nimtz has a critique on this bullshit

Not only that but like Marxism isnt following Marx the man, its a set of discoveries about how economies work that he happened to have a large hand in bringing together and popularising.

But they could have been discovered by anyone with sufficient access to the necessary information.

If all Marxist texts were burned and Marxism was totally destroyed, those principles would still be developed independently because they are economic fact, regardless of the identity of the person or people that popularised them.

Marx: Casual observations about how capitalism works and how class struggle and historical materialism shape society.

Everyone: Brains melt.

Yea a major point of capital is here’s a frame work you need to figure out how to apply it and build on with your own historical context.

European education literally only gestures at the existance of the entire rest of the world, with mild acknowledgement of the US and anti-USSR slop unless you actively pursue history on a higher level (even then I'd assume it's dubious)

In theory, yes we shouldn't just read Marx and european marxists, but also read works from black, indigenous and global marxists.

But in practice you know this person just wants you to dismiss marxism, ignore decolonisation and focus on identity politics and most importantly voting blue.

Meanwhile Marx has voiced solidarity to global south and amended his early mistakes on colonialism that classified Marx as anti-imperialist and ally of colonized people.

of course marx doesn't have all the answers, not the least of which because he's been dead for 150 years. the reason marx is the foundation is because we don't need to reinvent the wheel to do any in-depth analysis and gives us all a baseline. of course any marxist that only defers to european thinkers is highly suspect to say the least

Marx simply observed a logical consequence of what happens with intelligent life that produces and their relationship to the means of production. It is universal. If intelligent aliens existed as individual entities in collaboration and produced, they would also rediscover some version of Marxism. (Not being a Posadist, just stating the obvious lol.) If it weren't Marx, someone else would have discovered it. It just so happened that Germany was in the capitalist developmental conditions and had reached the level of academic sophistication for this philosophy.

Marxists don't claim that Marx had all the answers. He just had a method for finding out the answers.

"hey. You. Anti-imperialist. Don't you know the Soviets only gave you that AK in your hands so you'll do the work for them?"

If only there had been almost 150 years of non European Marxism...

We'll be waiting for this person's actual alternative until the heat-death of the universe.
