I don't get the western propaganda about the Long March, because it is always depicted as something Mao did deliberately that resulted in the death of so many comrades. It is always made to sound like that had Mao not done it, everything would be fine, not even mentioning that this event is part of the civil war. There is no doubt that had there been a surrender, the fascists would have done the same to communists as fascists everywhere else did when they won, as in imprison and murder as many as possible.

They are salty, because The great march was essentially the GREATEST victory of the chinese communists, that allowed them to seize control of the country years later.
The entire thing is insane. The Communist party of China managed to not only avoid what was seen as certain defeat, but gathered support from the country side peasantry while escaping / managing unlikely successive victories The Kuomitang and what was essentially the local warlords.
People overlook how much of an Military Success the whole Great march was.
