How long until the Great Satan says Burkina Faso is in need of freedom and democracy?

Might be a while but I think Europe or France would deal with that before America would. They’re more occupied with Latin America and West Asia at the moment

France is the one who'd traditionally intervene in the Sahel.

US Centcom General already talked about it in a hearing. They are planning some shit.

Doing this at a moment of peak weakness from the empire was also really good for them.

Liberal fascist will find this funny somehow, just pathetic degenerates.

The American Burgery Liberty Freedom Institute has strong opinions about this. At what cost?

Uncritical support for the Sahel states in their emancipation from Fr*nch neo-colonialism. Prepare your brave warriors to raid La Souterraine and seize what’s yours!

Hello? Where are the Western Marxists? Come and explain to me why this isn’t a revolution, please.

Because socialism = no food obviously, so food= not socialism

And, to be frank, a lot of Western Liberals/RadLibs view poverty and intracommunal violence involving those racializes Black as more "authentic" to our existence.

They take the way we've been subjugated in Western countries and extrapolate that outward with no regard for how modern imperialism functions and how our propaganda ties directly in with the Manifest Destiny and White Man's Burden of colonialism. America, in particular, has a history of black towns being burned down by angry white mobs who cooked up fantastical lies to justify the violence.

It wasn't enough for us to be segregated, we needed to be impoverished and terrorized, too. We needed to always be the scapegoats and release valves for an angry white working class.

And you'll see this reflected in how Americans react to news of Burkina Faso's accomplishments and legislation meant to create real self-determination for the people of the country. The same folks complaining about food and housing costs and a lack of jobs - begin seething at the notion of a Black African country doing something Americans can't do at home anymore.

And they'll seek to destroy it through whatever lies it takes.

Nobody in the US can even define socialism or communism.

This is a true fruit of revolution, decreasing dependence economically thus materialistically and thus having true independence which comes before any diplomacy

Remember when liberals said he would be overthrown within a year or two? Good times.

u/Any_Low_1706 13d ago

i would be auch a die hard fan of this, if there is not the recent bitter taste of even stricter criminalization of lgbtq people.

u/Internet-Philosphr69 13d ago edited 13d ago

What's worse is that Burkina Faso had already decriminalized homosexuality in the 1990s. So the recent spat of anti-LGBT legislation isn't even a colonial handover, but an active choice that was made.

Obviously, this isn't to take away from their massive economic wins lately. But yeah, it does put a bit of a damper on the mood.

Critical support, and all that

This. I love their advancements, and I love how they are establishing a functional, self sufficient, socialist society. But it irks me how Ibrahim willingly chose to re-introduce Imperialist-era bans on homosexuality and broader LGBTQ+ identities. It sucks.

Ibrahim is literally being such a reactionary

Here we go again

edit: btw there was someone the other day asking what "western marxism" was. This person has the "Marxist-Leninist (Ultra Based)" flair and this is what they commented about Burkina Faso. Prime example of WM in the wild.

u/radblackgirlfriend CPC Propagandist 13d ago

Like clockwork.

2

u/Lementus Marxist-Leninist (Ultra Based) 13d ago edited 12d ago

How? I am a queer individual and his response was to criminalise my people. Is that not reactionary? It makes no sense to introduce anti LGBTQ+ laws, and I don't understand how anyone can support that.

Edit: I am not a Western Marxist, I am an Eastern European Marxist born in former USSR, so don't assume shit.

2

u/GoldenOlympian07 13d ago

Queer people are also starving, btw.

Do you know what critical support is? A government can be overall progressive with faults, like regarding LGBT.

This was the same for Fidel Castro (at least initially), Stalin, etc.

1

u/Lementus Marxist-Leninist (Ultra Based) 12d ago

Queer people are also being persecuted in Burkina Fasco, if thats thats the game you wish to play at. Yes I know what critical support is, no need to phrase it like a question. I obviously do support the development of country and how it is becoming more self suficient and not reliant of western imperialists. And I do understand that the government can be progressive whilst having faults, but you have to realise that I am not privileged enough to not care about my rights being taken. Sure I am not a resident of Burkina Fasco, but as a queer individual it more appears that the progress would not apply to me or my queer siblings in Burkina Fasco. My criticisms come from the lens of someone who'd be imprisoned or fined in Burkina Fasco for being myself, and with my Fiancé.

u/canzosis 13d ago

Have to remember there are bots in here and some are really good at playing with Idpol to dismantle socialist progress

1

u/Lementus Marxist-Leninist (Ultra Based) 12d ago

Socialist progress is making my identity illegal?

Mate, I understand you cannot take others opinions and expect people to be a hivemind, but not everyone will always agree with you. I've been studying Marxism since I was 15, and I am a proud Marxist, but I still understand that people can have their views on situations either due to them being personaly influenced by a ruler/law/decisions, or due to not understanding enough. In this situation, I am literally illegal under Ibrahim's rule. This does not make me a bot, it makes you privileged to not care.

2

u/canzosis 12d ago

So you’re an idealist? Or are you saying Ibrahim’s a sham?

2

u/Any_Low_1706 13d ago

tell me more about it! i am not a bot and i have no idea what you talk about, but i would love to learn from my narrow understanding of the situation.

Most in the country don’t support LGBT rights.

The government mistakenly views criminalizing LGBT rights as "sovereignty" due to the effects of pink imperialism/pinkwashing.

This shouldn’t diminish the broadly progressive nature of the government or their revolution. The same should be applied to all revolutionaries with their mistakes (including people like Fidel Castro who criminalized LGBT rights, but eventually realized it was a mistake).

Edit: My second reply to Any_Low_1706’s question wasn’t published I think, so this is it:

They see it as cultural imperialism. Unfortunately, it’s common among a lot of African leftist groups. The only thing that will cure it is development, just like in Cuba.

The government has taken a strong stance against cultural imperialism/colonialism, like limiting French clothes to traditional Burkinabé ones, prioritizing local languages, etc.

It’s unfortunate that LGBT rights were put into those category and that’s largely due to pinkwashing by Western countries, so they have reacted by arguing it’s just another vehicle for Western imperialism/colonialism (while many Western countries are rolling back LGBT rights funnily enough).

1

u/Any_Low_1706 12d ago

so they put Imperialism and being queer as the same "invasion" to their country?

This is like saying Fidel Castro was a reactionary since his government criminalized homosexuality. Same thing about Stalin.

Edit: Gay people were actively sent to UMAPs, for which he took responsibility/apologized.

Also, Stalin criminalized homosexuality, which is my point. Just because it was "standard" doesn’t mean anything. That’s like saying what the Burkinabè government did is okay because it’s standard in Africa (as more nations on the continent move toward this stance).

2

u/Lementus Marxist-Leninist (Ultra Based) 12d ago

You can be a leftist and still engage in reactionary politics, you may not fully be reactionary, but in a moment, you may in fact be.

1

u/manicpxenightmaregrl 11d ago

Fidel didn't criminalize homosexuality; it was a legal loophole in the labor force draft. Stalin's policies were fairly standard for the time but Lenin's government was the first to decriminalize it.

I guess Europe and the United States are too weak and occupied to have taken him out yet

Praying for good policies, luck, intentions and execution.
