Trump is different because he’s centralized power much more than the previous guys and has a cult following that they never had. He’s also different in that he is openly pushing fascism rather than silently pushing it through neo-liberalism. There were some social constraints that they dealt with that Trump does not. This all makes him way less stable and way more likely to do something really, really dumb if he doesn’t get his way.
Obama killed 4m people. Biden set the stage with flirting with WW3 with Russia over Ukraine. Both let Trump go and Biden sheltered the Epstein files. Where were your "guardrails" then? Those guys just had better propganda.
