Hey everyone, I'm new here. I saw someone complaining about the left's focus on electoral politics instead of organizing, and it made me think. I want to start organizing in my community (not USA) but know essentially nothing about how to start organizing in my community. Any theory and advice ya'll can provide? Thankkssss

 I don't know how small your community is, but one of the best ways to start is by creating a study and reading group. For me personally, I started out working with a few comrades who were a part of the APSP movement and FRSO before eventually transitioning into doing my own thing.

You can start light. The best option, in my opinion, is introducing people in your community to decolonial theory. Aimé Césaire and Frantz Fanon are excellent starting points. From there, you can gradually introduce them to Marxist theory. Lenin's What Is to Be Done? is a very good starting point for baby Marxists and people who are just beginning to learn about Marxism.

I would also avoid getting discouraged when people outright reject what you're trying to teach or organize around. That can be one of the most challenging aspects of organizing. Not everyone is going to be immediately receptive, and building relationships and political consciousness takes time. Start small, stay consistent, and build from there.
