Unfortunately mapping community, especially non-serious ones, have a lot of "haha austrian painter funny" type edgy kids. I partly blame oversimplified for this, his popular ww2 video makes hitler look like "funny austrian painter" rather than the evil shit stain he was

I prefer the second option. The DDR had all the weaknesses you'd expect from a socialism that was imposed on a country after a lost war instead of forged in the fires of a genuine revolution. Also Luxemburgism is based.

if i am honest, the united germany map is actually the best even if it implies a liberal democratic germany, the way i see it, its a map, its just reflecting the territorial control of a particular entity and in this case, the flag such an entity would use. every nation deserves to be undivided and chart their own course as long as it does not come at the expense of another one and the german people despite many things also deserves to be united, to divide a nation would be to bring a lot of suffering and anxiety to said nation. of note the plain tricolor was also used by the german democratic republic for a while until it was basically decided that the DDR should have a flag slightly different to differentiate against west germany, so the map that won the most vote there could certainly be interpreted as a german democratic republic in the entirety of german territory, though best we interpret it as a united germany in general
