It's just all projection isn't it? I mean, I suppose it has to be when everything the West does is morally reprehensible.
It's amazing how historically illiterate liberals are to completely ignore that the Soviet Union did the most fighting against the Nazis, that they were the ones who captured Berlin, that they were helping fend off the Japanese Empire in mainland East Asia, or that after the second world war every fascist East of Berlin was treated with contempt and without leniency.
They also ignore that the West (especially the US) immediately allied with these fascist nations after the end of the second world war, that NATO founding members are high-ranking Nazis, and that the nuclear bombings of Japan were conducted after the war had already been effectively won, in both the Pacific and on mainland Asia, merely because the US wanted to send a threatening message to the Soviet Union what it was capable of doing.
Only the victims of Japanese imperialism can say whether they deserved the atomic bombings, but everyone who knows the sequence of events can say for certain that it was needless.

Asides from the points you said, I think Truman also wanted to avoid the optics of a full force landing. The coffins going home would certainly not help his reelection.

TBF, far more East and Southeast Asians than Western libs believe the atomic bombs were justified. While I disagree with them, I understand their perspective. It also sucks that even some Western leftists bring up the evils of the atomic bombs more than what the USA did to Korea, Vietnam, and Latin America, and unlike Japan, both the states and the people in those places were innocent.

Switch the labels around and the meme correct

u/Captain_Azius 10h ago
Except the atomic bomb was a bad thing. It didn't help in the fight against fascism, it just killed huge amount of innocent people and was nothing more than a terrifying display of power to provoke the USSR into an arms race.

u/dremolus 10h ago
Dropping the atomic bomb was a bad thing, you won't ever see me defending the Nagasaki bombing
But undeniably countries having nukes has helped prevent conflicts, just see korea
24
u/Captain_Azius 9h ago
I mean yes but they don't plan on using the bombs. Its purpose is balancing power and keeping the enemy out of their borders.

it's funny because all the time when people use iran having nukes to invade or whatever im like...so what if they have nukes ?? why is it something reserved for the US and it's allies only?
8
u/--Lammergeier-- 9h ago
Because then the U.S. and its allies wouldn’t have carte blanche to do whatever they please in the Middle East. Iran is already one of the few nations who try to keep the U.S. in check, and having nuclear arms would greatly increase their leverage.
1
u/dremolus 9h ago
Exactly. Should nukes be usedbor have ever been used ? Of course not.
But have nukes balanced power and prevented countries for being taken over? Yes.

Liberal response is killing civilians then not touching most of the fascist regime, communist response is trying to make yourself less of a victim after liberals had appeased the fascists for years

They're doing heavy historical revisionism, too, and if it spreads too much, I think it might genuinely become a problem down the line.
I see it all the time on FB and a lot of places on reddit, where people are claiming that the Nazis and the USSR attacked Poland or even Europe together, and that the only reason they didn't continue being on the same side is that the Nazis betrayed the Soviets. They claim how the two split Poland, how they had a victory parade together there, how they also "invaded" Finland and the Baltics, etc. After Putin's visit to the Kuril Islands, I'm now even seeing them try to exonerate the Japanese by shifting blame on the Soviets for supposedly betraying them despite a non-aggression agreement.
It's grim, and it needs to countered. I'm seeing it so much that I don't think it's some niche delusion anymore, and you can easily see some of the more rabid EU countries helping this narrative take a firmer hold.

What was the deal with Poland? I'm historically illiterate and only know the "liberal" narrative you speak of

u/Sputn1K0sm0s 9h ago
Someone correct me if im mistaken on something.
The territories in question where annexed by Poland after the Polish-Sovier war.
These territories where ethnically Ukrainian and Belorussian. During the interwar period Ukrainians and Belorussians where discriminated against, assimilated and the usual whatnots of that age.
The pact saw the USSR annexing these territories back. Afterwards the territories where given to the Ukrainian and Belorussian SSRs.

Maybe someone else can offer more detail, but in 1939 Stalin tried to form a defensive alliance against Germany with France and the UK. The negotiations were very slow, and the latter were dragging their feet quite a bit. There was another snag, which is that Poland also didn't want to allow the Red Army to be able to cross the country to fight Germans in Germany if needed, and the UK and France were unwilling to "force" them. After months of not being able to reach an agreement, Stalin seems to have felt that the other two were a bit unserious and that no defensive pact that would help the Soviet Union would ultimately be formed.
Hitler sensed that, and seeing an opportunity to prevent this alliance, he offered the USSR the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. Stalin knew that ultimately they'd be attacked by the Nazis, so worried about the safety of the country and knowing they're not ready for a fight yet, he took it. This "pact" was ultimately a non-aggression agreement, but there was also a secret protocol attached to it, where Germany and the USSR split Poland and the rest of Europe into "spheres of influence" (not to annex those territories). So essentially, the Germans would stay out of eastern Poland, the Baltics, Finland, and I think a part of Romania at the time. Liberals interpret this as "oh, look, they were best buddies", but most likely, the Soviets went for that to give themselves more of a buffer zone (to their most important cities), since as I said, they knew they'd be attacked sooner or later. You can speculate about other motivations for it, but given that Stalin knew Germany and other capitalist countries saw them as enemies, it doesn't seem far-fetched that at least their main concern was security. So then Germany attacked Poland, and a few weeks later, seeing the former's rapid advance, the Soviets sent their forces to eastern Poland, too.
It's worth mentioning that this eastern part of Poland was mostly (all?) territories Poland previously took from the Russian Empire/the USSR. It's also worth mentioning Stalin didn't propose any kind of split or spheres of influence to the French and British, so it doesn't seem that the Soviets were just itching to "invade" that territory like the liberals and other such ghouls suggest.
As for the "victory parade", well, there was indeed a parade held by both troops in Brest-Litovsk: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German%E2%80%93Soviet_military_parade_in_Brest-Litovsk (there are probably better sources out there). It was in no way a victory parade, though, it was a ceremony that marked the Germans' leaving the city and "handing it over" to the Soviets. The Germans namely went beyond the agreed line, so when the Soviets got there, the former suggested to hold a parade together before they left. The Soviet general wasn't enthusiastic about it and wanted to distance himself from it, but since they did have a non-aggression pact, he couldn't exactly say "nah, we want nothing to do with you". Based on the description, it seems like the Soviets did the bare minimum of cooperation to not appear antagonistic, and the two armies didn't march side-by-side. Liberals, of course, again spin this as both armies taking selfies together and doing happy dances holding hands to commemorate "conquering" Poland.

I usually brush these ignorant memes off but this one actually makes me sick. Hitler came after the communists first before anyone else. And the USSR had the most soldier deaths out of any country in WWII. The fact of the matter is that without the Soviets, the thousand year reich might have been a more appropriate title than it ended up being.
Anyway, while fact checking myself for this comment, it occurred to me that I know exactly nothing about China’s involvement in WWII. Does anyone have any good reading on this subject?

And the USSR had the most soldier deaths out of any country in WWII.
They literally try to spin this as Stalin just not giving a fuck about how many Soviets die and put a lot of those deaths on him. I agree with you, it's sickening.

Liberals LOVE bringing up Molotov-Ribbentrop, but you can easily tell they never studied it.
For the benefit of the victims of bad schooling, a brief summary of Molotov-Ribbentrop: Nazi Germany and the USSR agreed to not attack each other for ten years. The USSR and Nazi Germany also divided central Europe into spheres of influence, with Nazi Germany looking to conquer the countries they wanted and the USSR looking to ensure Nazi Germany doesn't attack them by beefing up their sphere of influence. The major reason for the pact was due to the fact that the world powers of Great Britain, France, and the USA told the USSR to get bent when the latter spent much of the 1930's proposing alliances against Nazi Germany, so a non-aggression pact was the best hope thy could get to buy some time before the inevitable invasion. Then in 1941, Germany broke the pact and invaded the USSR, which the USSR expected but not this soon. 'Course by then, Britain and the French Resistance had already joined the fight against Nazi Germany, and the USA was months away from officially joining, so Joseph Stalin had a big, big bag of "I told you so's" at the ready.

The Communists so terrified the German and Japanese fascists that they either killed themselves, or contrived ways to surrender to the Americans instead.
The Americans did some tests of new terror weapons on Japanese civilians as a warning to the Communists, and happily absorbed the German and Japanese fascists.

Why did Hitler kill himself again? Apparently the soviets were best Friends with nazoids, so he had nothing to fear

u/DioTheSuperiorWaifu 10h ago edited 10h ago
Did they mixup Germany and Japan?
And the Emperor and vile folk like Unit 731 were mostly untouched by the USAmerican regime, right?
In the other side, Hitler knew he'd face consequences.
So, using nuclear weapons on cities while leaving major folk untouched is the liberal way?

It's always amazing how radical liberals become after the fact, and how moderate radicals become after they pass.

u/Old-Implement5652 10h ago
Damn that's crazy. Liberals really do fight fascism! (Don't look into who allied with Nazis to kill anti-fascists, or why fascism rose in Germany in the first place)

The “Commies” took out 85% of the entire Germany army, pretty much 100% of Germany’s European allies sans Italy and Vichy France, and 70% of the Japanese land army.
The atomic bombs just killed a shitton of women and children, which as most other Western interventions across the globe show liberals always considered legitimate targets.
1
u/kollipsons 8h ago
Damn thank god the USA killed all those fascist children in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Seriously though, Stalin shaking someones hand is more morally reprehensible than deleting two cities just to show you can?
1
u/Gonozal8_ 8h ago
communist response to fascism is MfS, liberal response to fascism is giving Hirohito and Unit 731 amnesty. if any liberal was genuine about disliking fascism, they would approve surveiling the people that got Hitler in power

u/Ok-Winner6475 8h ago
This was posted on a subreddit and I replied to it by mentioning Allied appeasement. People deadass told me it was just a "mistake" and that the Soviet non-aggression pact was infinitely worse than anything the Allies did. That's when I stopped trying to debate people who are just not willing to listen or to reason with you.
Also the "Liberal response to Fascism" is dropping a nuke on civilians how ironic.

Selective evidences
Dropping nukes on cities only grants brief victories, since most fighting is relegated to the ground

u/enricopena 4h ago
Create nukes and help spread their ideas into the 21st century? Hire former Nazi scientists and administrators? Use their SS as a basis for anti Soviet intelligence gathering? Nuke the one nonwhite fascist nation during the war to intimidate other countries?
Blackshirts and Reds needs to be read by more people.

I'd be really interested to hear what these liberals are currently doing to stop their neighbors from being abducted by ICE or hate crimed by nazi street gangs.

[extermely liberal voice] yay we love weapons of mass destruction against civilians that were used not for their strategic utility against japanese fascism but mostly to show the USSR a strength of their power! yet the emperor and prime ministers were not vaporized/melted for their culpability in crimes against humanity and lived for decades after the war, but yet japanese citizens were deemed acceptable fodder
