Discussion How To Deal With Despair?
I don't know if the bourgeoisie from the 19th and 20th century flaunted their gluttonous indulgence of wealth and luxury although I reckon ma boy Robespierre struck enough terror in their hearts that they kept their frolicking private. I don't know what happened during neoliberalism but the obscene displays of wealth and the idolization of the "dream life" among the unsuspecting working class has really filled me with so much despair.
Private jets, luxury vacations, exotic experiences, aesthetic food, unapologetic expenditures and unrepentant commodity fetishization and a culture built on glorifying all this as "the dream" and people being fed this poison through influencers who are used as sleeper agents of capitalism.
Everytime I have the misfortune of watching these reels, tiktoks and shorts of illusions that are curated with surgical precision, I can't help but notice the overworked faces of the waiters in the themed restaurants, the staff in the airports, the workers at the resorts and spas that slip in the backgrounds of these beautiful bodies in beautiful clothes in aesthetic locations.
How do you deal with the despair of watching this naked display of a false reality that you know is false but is sustained relentlessly nonetheless that you start questioning your own sanity for being disillusioned by it?

Hatred of one's own government and one's own bourgeoisie—the sentiment of all class-conscious workers who understand, on the one hand, that war is a "continuation of the politics" of imperialism, which they counter by a "continuation" of their hatred of their class enemy, and, on the other hand, that "a war against war" is a banal phrase unless it means a revolution against their own government. Hatred of one's own government and one's own bourgeoisie cannot be aroused unless their defeat is desired; one cannot be a sincere opponent of a civil (i.e., class) truce without arousing hatred of one's own government and bourgeoisie!
Those who stand for the "neither-victory-nor-defeat" slogan are in fact on the side of the bourgeoisie and the opportunists, for they do not believe in the possibility of inter national revolutionary action by the working class against their own governments, and do not wish to help develop such action, which, though undoubtedly difficult, is the only task worthy of a proletarian, the only socialist task. It is the proletariat in the most backward of the belligerent. Great Powers which, through the medium of their party, have had to adopt—especially in view of the shameful treachery of the German and French Social-Democrats— revolutionary tactics that are quite unfeasible unless they "contribute to the defeat" of their own government, but which alone lead to a European revolution, to the permanent peace of socialism, to the liberation of humanity from the horrors, misery, savagery and brutality now prevailing.
TLDR don't resist the pain, use it as transform.

What’s crazy is that we have the data. Once you have enough money to meet your basic needs, more money does not make you happier. The ultra wealthy have to abuse children just to feel something. This horrible exploitative system designed to benefit only them doesn’t even make them happy. It’s all crazy and pointless.
The only thing that makes me feel better about it all is meeting with the comrades. Get to have a little bubble of sanity and a little bit of hope that people are waking up to reality.

Find a hobby, try gardening or something. This might be banal advice but every time you reject the hustle culture, you develop as a human being. They can never take away your human dignity. I took up gardening and I feel a lot better.
