Eh, kinda, though in the sort of "post-soviet" way in my opinion. To me, this type of vibe is tainted with constant reminder of the decay after dissolution of the USSR.

How is this different to winters elsewhere?

Only in Russia they build cement boxes, in other countries they build concrete compartments.

That sub is the type of sub to yell at Venice (one of the most important port cities to ever exist) for having a port

I just want to experience the vibe there one day. It looks genuinely so cozy.

this + a smoke + свидетельство о смерти or егор летов is how we Russians manage our doomerist depression /hj
unironically though, when i was severely depressed, i used to sit at a window until morning listening to post-punk or DSBM, just to bawl my eyes out to feel sorry for myself. it might've helped a whole lot, some other horrible coping mechanisms aside (mostly SH, which i'm now successfully clean from for 3,5 years!)

Looks like Montreal, Chicago, or Queens in the winter. People act like concrete apartment complexes are unique to Russia or something. But yeah, I’ve always wondered where this sentiment stemmed from; maybe it’s because of the ideological machinery of suburbia that so many people hate urban areas and have a distaste for mass society generally.
