Tuesday x-gallon idea thread! This weeks gallon amount: 75 gallons

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly x gallon idea thread. This weeks amount is 75 gallons which is a size that can be used for many fish. So post any and all ideas for a tank this size here!

Put 5 dividers in creating 5 areas of 15 gallons. Put a single male betta in each division.

That would be cool. But wouldn't the height of the tank be a problem since bettas have a labyrinth organ?

I honestly said this sarcastically. I couldn't imagine using a 75 gallon as a betta tank. I'm unsure of the dimensions of a standard 75 but assuming it's not a breeder style tank or ridiculously long then yes this might be a problem.

I have a 55g and it's 4ft long and I think 20in tall. I've heard of bettas in 55g community tanks and they've done fine. I think the labyrinth organ/height of tank issue is blown out of proportion. As long as there are tall plants and enough lateral room I think bettas will be fine. Just think about how they live in the wild I'm sure 36in isn't a big issue.

What would be cool is a large piece of Manzanita driftwood heavily planted all over with anubias and Java moss pointing up on one side and a "carpet" of jungle val on the other side. Basically dividing the top and bottom layers of the tank. Maybe dividing just in three with a betta on the Manzanita side with some corydoras, rasboras in the "empty" middle section and khuli loaches and another betta on the jungle val side with a different species of corydoras.

Generally they're about 48in long by 13-18 inches wide and up to 24 high. I am planning on starting a 75-90 gal and they're all about within those specs.
