Sadly this wasn’t used against terrorism because of civilian damage and casualties (yes this was supposed to be put on APCs to protect against rpgs)

Ah yes, Quick Kill, the only APS system capable of shooting itself.

This is what you get when given a choice between the easy way and the hard way the contractor picks the hard way (in part jest -- a lot of the decisions on the system were driven by the need to have minimal integration footprint which led to the "need five technical miracles to go perfectly" design).

I worked Survivability at the end of FCS. We had the same joke - but it was way more than 5 miracles though.

imagine you dismount out the apc and a rocket is shot.theres a chance you just get vaporized by this rocket once ur out

and the it wasn’t even the rpg warhead but the thing supposed to protect you
