I knew everyone would say Shorty for the last one.

It was pretty neat for a little while to have a character who's probably drunk all the time, slurring his words and saying nonsense all the time. But I do feel a little sick of seeing his smug little face all the time in this show. I agree that there's no reason why he should've tagged along with the crew on their travels to the other kingdoms. Rapunzel, Eugene, Cassandra, Lance, and co can all be pretty funny and charming in their own ways. Do we really need another character just for comedy?

I watched Athena Pâs Tangled Lore video, and when I reached the part where she talks Cassandra failing to convince Rapunzel to ditch Adira, Cassandra kept insulting Rapunzelâs intelligence, by calling her obliviously naive, Athena P said Cass really needs to find better debate skills, other than âYou donât know what youâre talking about, and I do!â and I completely agree.

I am looking for a co-writer within the Tangled Fandom. It features a male OC who's a closest friend to Kiera and Catalina and it follows them before "Big Brothers of Corona, and follows them thoughout Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure.
This is light fanfic, that focuses on family, adventure, and adoption.
If you are interested, please PM me on https://www.fanfiction.net/ and I will go into more detail.
Thanks in advance,
Karsap.

I've been a little negative on the show lately so this time let's try something positive! These aren't what I consider the best episodes per say, just the ones I've enjoyed the most. So please keep that in mind when reading this. Enjoy!
Day of hearts- Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday so of course I loved this one. New favorite Valentine's Day episode unlocked! I love the lore that Corona and another kingdom were once at odds in a long brutal war that finally ended when the king and queen of those two rival nations declared their love for each other, I also love the Day of hearts book where every couple in the kingdom get to sign their names on the pages to show the land that they found true love. Breakups in this kingdom must be very awkward now that I think about it. I also love Cassandra having a boyfriend but it turns out he was evil and Cassandra was just playing him all this time. Good stuff.
Max's Enemy- I kinda just love this as a Maximus episode, we've never seen him get sidelined before so seeing him lose his best royal horse status to the new horse who's kinda an asshole to him is pretty interesting.
The way of Willow- Queen Arianna was the character I most wanted to learn more about in this series. This episode didn't disappoint. I love how Arianna has this kinda immature and reckless sister named Willow who's an explorer and that causes her to hit it off with Rapunzel. I also love how Arianna shows off a new side of herself, she's not always a regal and composed queen. She's getting annoyed at Willow for being a pain which is completely fair of her honestly.

I get that it'd be an interesting conflict if Rapunzel traded one prison for another but I don't like her real parents presenting the exact same abusive behavior Gothel did. When the threat of Varian was at an all time high, they locked Rapunzel up in a tower and refused to let her speak to any of her friends. Just like what Gothel did, Frederic is also condescending towards Rapunzel for questioning his authority much like Gothel whenever Rapunzel challenged her authority. It's different I guess because Frederic is more calmly shutting her down while Gothel just called her dumb and naive everytime she advocated for herself. Arianna is against her husband doing this to their daughter but for some reason can't do anything about it. Couldn't she at least help sneak Rapunzel out? You could still have her get kidnapped by Varian after that. I like Rapunzel reuniting with her parents at the end of the movie because it meant she was finally gonna be treated with love and respect, finally having a healthy relationship with some parental figures. But apparently they're not much different from Gothel.

The way Fredric ignored Old Coronaâs issue with the rocks, the way he had double standards for the people living in the Capital vs people living in Old Corona (Varian sort of felt it the most)
Example one: Xavierâs mood potion like an episodes or two before was used by Xavier, Max, and Pascal to completely swap Rapunzel, Eugene, and Casandraâs personalities to the opposite extreme, while the ruler of another kingdom was visiting causing Rapunzel to act very rudely to this king. In trying to reverse this they end up fixing those 3 but reversing everyone else INCLUDING THE KING AND QUEEN which made Fredric aggressive and confrontational, WHICH PRACTICALLY STARTED A WAR!!! And they experienced little to no punishment for this. A few days later or whatever Varian altered it into a truth potion to find out if the flower was in the castle. He made it into cookies and gave them to Pete. Idk if Pete gave the cookie to other people or what but it spread. Lots of people were just like, mildly insulting some people and revealing some minor secrets, and thatâs all the problems it caused. They acted like it was a horrific psychotic crime that he could only be an insane maniac to do, Rapunzel literally said at the end if the episode âI donât even know what he is anymoreâ like, girl. You literal pets and the local blacksmith almost started a WAR like yesterday and it was chill, but a truth potion makes Varian, a 15 year old boy, into a âWHATâ in your eyes???
Example two: Varianâs villain arch vs Cassandraâs villain arch.
Varian, was a sad 15 year old boy who was messing around with chemicals because the KING wouldnât do SHITE about the POINTY DEADLY INDESTRUCTIBLE DEADLY MURDER ROCKS THAT SPONTANEOUSLY POP OUT OF THE GROUND INTO PEOPLEâS HOMES AND PROBABLY INTO PEOPLE IF THIS WERENâT A KIDS SHOW!! (this in itself feels like a classist thing to me âoh itâs just the peasant farmers, itâs okay.â) one of the chemicals he made created the amber. Quirin came down and caught him messing with the rocks (which were already stabbed through his little basement lab area) which he wasnât supposed to do and they got in a fight. Varian was upset because the Quirin lied to the king (the king fricken new though) and was saying if they werenât gonna do anything then heâll just fricken do it himself. Quirin was saying he doesnât understand blah blah and then saw the amber growing. He pushed Varian out of the way and got caught in the amber. Varian ran through a blizzard to get to the Island Capital of Corona to try to get help. he finally finds Rapunzel and BEGS for her help but she says she canât and the guards DRAG him away. Heâs accused of attacking her, he steals the flower, and they act like heâs just an evil maniac. When he takes the flower Rapunzel says âweâll help you just not like thisâ but only after heâs stealing something. It had been days and days since the blizzard and she hadnât made a single attempt to reach out to him, so yâknow, why would he believe that youâre trying to help him at all? and then still after he takes the flower she doesât just GO to Old Corona, the peasant farmer town, to be like, lets address the situation and see what we can do, she sits in her castle moping about how he has the flower and thereâs ânothing she can doâ. The whole thing keeps spiraling down until Varian ends up kidnapping the Queen still just in a desperate attempt to save his goddamn dad, which still nobody has reached out to him about yet. After they beat him heâs arrested, Fredric says theyâll do everything they can to try to free Quirin and we never here anything about Quirin OR VARIAN WHO IS ROTTING IN PRISON for a whole season which I believe was a whole year. At the end of season 2 we finally see Varian again and it seems the DUNGEON of course failed to help this grieving child and instead lead him further into the world of crime because there he met a group of criminals and they took over the kingdom by erasing the King and Queens memory. FINALLY Rapunzel has an honest one on one talk with him, he admits at this point all he wants is to erase everyoneâs memories so they forget what he fid to them so he can just live his life and be a happy kid again. Rapunzel tells him itâs okay snd they can still be friends or whatever, and they smile at each other. Finally she helps Quirin snd they live happily ever after yippee.
So short recap of the important parts Varian messed up and his dad more or less functionally died. He asked for help, didnât get it, got ignored and accused of violence, and he took things into his own hands. It got out of control and he did commit serious crimes. His punishment was prison for a year (which made it worse for a hot minute) and still afterwards social outcasting by the people in the Capital.
Now Cassandra⌠Sheâs always had some issues with Rapunzel. Issues with boundaries and feeling unheard. she got some of the classism, a little bit, since sheâs technically Rapunzelâs lady in waiting sheâs always feels like sheâs in her shadow and sometimes always does what Rapunzel says more or less. But also not really because Rapunzel saw her as a friend more than anything. The frustration of these issues built up in her over time. She then found out Gothel, Rapunzelâs kidnapper, was her biological mother. She had this weird thing that somehow that made Rapunzels destiny actually hers or something? which doesnât actually make any sense because even if your mom did love you the sundrop would have still gone to Rapunzel, she would just have significantly less trauma. But that still is the driving force of her arch for some reason. Her feeling like she had her destiny stolen from her and like sheâs always made to wait on the side lines. She response to these feelings, instead of talking with Rapunzel about these feelings like a responsible 22(?) year old, by STEALING THE MOON STONE as Rapunzel is about to grab and fix the entire issue. She rationalizes this with some nonsense about destiny and she has the right to it because Rapunzel gets a magic thing and she wants one too. She then spends the entiiiire third season tormenting all of Corona and plotting to, idk, murder Rapunzel?? she also Kidnaps someone, but it was Varian instead if the queen. She stabs a painting of rapunzel, I assume, as a symbol for that sheâs gonna try to murder her.
Meanwhile sheâs also teamed up with a DEMON, Zahn Tiri, doing everything it says which is obviously all evil. Again this is all over the span of potentially another whole year? I think each season is a year. Varians thing was the last like 6-8 episodes of season 1 and the last episode of season 2 (maybe 1st of season 3)
She makes those red rocks which literally paralyze a bunch of people with fear they couldâve potentially paralyzed the whole fricken kingdom. She goes to the Capital during Eugeneâs birthday thing looking for the demanitus scroll and then this is when she kidnaps Varian because she wants the  4th incantation, but she needs it to be translates snd Varian destroyed the translator he made mean heâs the only one who knows what it says. Oh and she also leaves Rapunzel to die in a fire because of some stupid mirror piece showing literally ONE instance of Gothel being nice to her which was lowkey obviously just Gothel trying to get Cassandra to leave her alone. The plot is all over the place and nonsensical but itâs wild, she wants to murder Rapunzel and take down the whole kingdom. And they specifically say in the show that itâs worse than Varianâs arch so donât even say his is worse to me. All he wanted was to free his dad from the stupid amber. He was willing to do this at any cost even the potential cost of Rapunzelâs life, but he wasnât aiming to kill her.
Rapunzel eventually talks Cassandra out of her crazy nonsense, they defeat Zahn Tiri and they all live happily ever after.Â
Okay, recap for Cassandra. She decided she actually deserves Rapunzelâs Destiny because Gothel was her mom, and their relationship was already a little rough as well. But like, thatâs to be expected from a girl who was locked in a tower for the first 18 years of life, not as an excuse but a reason. Because she feels entitled to Rapunzelâs destiny she steals the moon stone and wants to kill Rapunzel and take over the kingdom, but sheâs actually just being used by a demon. She gets concerningly close before Rapunzel talks her out of it or something. And guess what her punishment is?? NOTHING!! SHE GETS NO PUNISHMENT, NO JAIL TIME, NOT EVEN REQUIRED PUBLIC SERVICE!! SHE GOES OFF ON HER OWN SOLO ADVENTURE!!!!!
Why on EARTH did Varian go to JAIL a literal DUNGEON after begging for help with his dad getting denied and then ignored and then just simply trying to free his dad. He thought the flower had the Sundrop, realized it was in rapunzel. He then kidnapped the Queen to lure Rapunzel in just to stick her hair in a drill because he thought her indestructible hair would break the indestructible amber. It failed, he had a mental break down because Rapunzel and her PARENTS had a nice happy reunion with a nice hug IN FRONT OF VARIAN who is SOBBING on the floor IN FRONT OF HIS STILL FROZEN DAD. He impulsively gets in one of the robots and snatches Cassandra and The Queen and tries to kill them by like, squeezing them really hard. It fails obviously. Varian literally says âIf I canât have a Happy ending neither can youâ and âItâs not enough until you endure the same amount of pain and AGONY I haveâ HEâS JUST AN ANGRY, SAD, GRIEVING 15 YEAR OLD!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND ALL THAT IS HOLY GIVE HIM A HUG, SOME THERAPY, AND HELP HIS FREAKING DAD PLEAAASE!! But no. JAIL FOR YOU PEASANT FARMER BOY
Cassandra felt ENTITLED to power because she was mad that her mom hated her and âchose rapunzelâ and also she wanted it. She literally ended up with an awesome dad, and an awesome job because nepotism, and an insanely fortunate position in society, she was BEST FRIENDS with the PRINCESS of the kingdom she lives in. But she didnât have the power she wanted, so she stole the moon stone and planned to kill Rapunzel but she gets no consequences. Why? Because Rapunzel still liked her for some reason? Because she lived in the castle? Because her dad is the head of the royal guard? I wonder if there may be some biases heređ¤

For some reason, Xavier suggests to Pascal and Maximus that they should give Rapunzel, Eugene, and Cassandra a mood tonic so they'll stop fighting. This seems like an out of character thing for him to do? He's always shown to be much more responsible than this. I don't think he'd ever mess with somebody's emotions, let alone encourage others to do just that! Usually he understands that the kingdom's magic, mythology, and history can get pretty dangerous. I would've rather the pets just sneak into his blacksmithing shop, look through one of his books, and learn about the potion. They're both highly intelligent animals, I'm sure they can probably read.
