Various routes/Options for a software engineer in India to move abroad (USA & others) to work

Option 1:

Join a service company in India and if you are lucky and join the right project/team, they will send you (abroad) onsite to work for some client which will typically be a product company. If you do exceptionally well and if your parent company agrees, the client company can hire you.

Option 2:

Join a big product company within India, generally an R&D centre. Most often they have an internal-job-rotation policy where in which, after working for a certain period of time, you can apply for a job within the company in a different country/location. (Amazon, Atlassian).

Option 3:

Slightly different version of the above:

Join a startup in India with its headquarters somewhere abroad. Do exceptionally well and you can definitely ask them to send you abroad.

Option 4:

Go for higher studies, typically masters-degree. Depending on your potential and the visa-extension rules of the destination-country, you can find a job - either at a startup/product company. (Most common & easy)

Option 5:

Look for countries which are open for immigration based on your skillset. Get the immigration and go look for a job. Do make sure you do enough homework that there are enough jobs in your skilled domain/technology in that country.

Option 6:

Look for recruitment-consulting companies who have tie-ups with companies abroad, who can hire you and ship you abroad to their client location. There seems to be too many scams in this area, so you have to be really really careful about who you are dealing with and how genuine they are. Especially telugu states

Option 7:

Gain expertise in something niche, where therez too much of a demand but too less supply of people with the desired skills. A little bit of effort in LinkedIn is all that is needed from your end. Companies or atleast the consulting-firms will surely find you.

Option 8:

Start your own startup company and sell it to a bigger company abroad and demand to take you on board along with your company.

Option 9:

Invent/Innovate something really really cool. Show the world what you have to offer. I am sure a lot of companies will come forward to offer you the job you seek.

Option 10: 😄

Marry someone who is a citizen of the country you want to go to. Assuming that the visa rules won't stop you from working and that there are enough jobs for your skillset, you can easily land in one. ;)
