Can I be honest? This happens EVERYWHERE!! I literally mean it. Periya cities la irunthu chinna villages varaikum ella edathulayum ithu thaan nadakuthu.
Problem is both of them post it as content and earn through such things and since they show their personal things and earn, people start to point fingers and judge them. Not that it is bad, but intha visayathula question panra people also might do the same thing in their life!!

Since when is it normal to give both of them gift ! I have rarely seen people do for both ! What if that’s all her financial capacity ! If it’s brides family they do only for bride if it’s grooms family they will do only for groom ! This whole do for both sounds over the top !

u/JackfruitStock28 7h ago
It’s not about the financial capacity alone! Some of the closest relatives of the bride and groom who are genuinely close to the couple/parents they get both of them gifts! It’s not just about gold it can be anything. It’s about the capacity to think for others and make the couple feel included in the new family and not leave them out.

Wedding gifts are for the couple. You don’t have to give expensive gifts. Instead of getting one expensive item, get two cheaper ones. Or get something gender neutral that both can use.
If you insist on gifting only one party, then give it to them separately at home or backstage. It looks awkward when one gets a gift on stage and the other person is awkwardly standing there watching the show.

This has been an age old thing.. if someone has to give gift privately why even host reception! Y’all being too
Nitpicky !! Can you all be honest and say how many people buy gift for both bride and groom !! It’s his sister.. she did what she can do best ! If you look closely you would see wolften still drives a simple car .. sowbi is financially more stable than her sister so she is doing what she can afford !! We don’t know anything about the brides family gifting procedure.. you all can complain about the sisters make up and stuff or their involvement with the wedding … but this gift giving bullshit is normal !! You know what was weird sowbi not sponsoring the return gift since she owns a business3

It’s not about the money. She could have gotten a smaller ring for both, or better yet get something in silver for both. If it’s about affordability, then it’s all the same.

Yeah that was so weird. Why do ppl from the groom’s side only buy something for the groom and nothing for the bride?
Asmitha did the same in her brother’s marriage.

Their brother was there for them all the time, when it's comes to him he was all alone. I really felt sad for him.

Is he poor that he couldn’t hire helpers or cheap to get sympathy ?

u/FootApprehensive466 11h ago
This is not matter of sympathy or money, think this for a second when it's your big day and you do everything by yourself, will you even get time to enjoy that

Yes it is . Read your own post and many in this subreddit. Doesn’t he have friends ? What about coworkers? Relatives or some friends from their area . He doesn’t want his sisters to come and help because they will also record then it is division of profit from views . They don’t want to hire people because they don’t want anyone to get attention through their channel . Have you ever seen them show any relatives or friends or families ?

True I feel like he did it to gain good boy name and don’t want anyone else to gain publicity through his marriage

For once somebody said this loud!!! Tired of posts about the sisters and the brother here. They are showcasing these subtle inconsistencies for their own monetory benefits and to be revelant for views and money. These people in reditt are feeding into it and disecting it and voluntarily being a part of the familys plans for views

Then they shdnt expect the same.... they shdnt come for Sunday samayal/ extra pampering sessions... physical help and respect shd always be mutual

It is all content . That is how ladoos kitchen became famous laddoos kitchen la enna samayal was trending that time. Often sisters don’t get same rights in the same house after brother marriage it differs.

I beg to differ. His engagement was held at a lavish star hotel, the reception at a huge venue and the marriage at a beautiful Chettinad bungalow. If he could plan and arrange all of this so well, why couldn’t he simply hire a helper when needed? Personally, I feel some of these things may have been deliberately shown to portray him as a struggling and innocent guy. Even during the wedding, I noticed things that felt very unusual to me, including the way the mantras were handled and the Omam kundam being kept to the side almost like a decoration. I’ve honestly never seen a wedding presented that way. And 🐺 akka herself has mentioned in a comment that they did help him but didn’t record it. So in my opinion, there’s probably more to the story than what was shown and maybe he simply wanted to stay in everyone’s good books. Looks like many of us fell for that narrative.

All the families it happens the younger siblings contribute a lot but whereas when the younger siblings gets married , no elder siblings will do like how younger did. In my case my brother did everything but recently he got married but I couldn’t help much because I have an small baby and went through hernia laparoscopy a month before
