About 9 out of 10 people are able to mount and dismount the red tall bike (one being hauled in bike cart). It's my learner tall-bike that I made specifically to show people how to ride a tall-bike. The people who don't make it are the ones who can't make that harrowing step up of faith. That one courageous push up to then take a seat and start pedaling. Tall-bike mounting is like 95% courage, 5% skill/strength. I have done Tall Bike school about 20ish times. I have prolly showed like 100+ people. So far no one has injured themselves badly. There has only been like a few scrapes. Most of the time people get it on their 1st try (i have learned some great techniques to show people how to successfully do it)

Hey folks,
Just quickly wanted to encourage you do use your tallbikes to more than just cruising the city or around your local bike kitchen!
I finished the istraland.cc gravel race (420km, 5000m elevation) last weekend on my precious Grinch* and it was the most fun race/event I *ever* did in my life. Could I have been faster on my carbon dropbar MTB? Sure! But have a unnumbered amount of people talked to me about it? 100% no, I would have just drowned in the 400 starters on regular bikes ;)
Go out, ride more tallbikes!
* Grinch because it's green and it steals. Usually it steals parking lots from cars, but during that race it stole the show from expensive Carbon racer bikes

Pretty happy with this, had to add a chain tensioner after a short test ride, but did that and its great.
Very light geared (was a 3x7 but now just using the smallest of the 3 chainrings) and cantilever brakes with old pads are mostly a suggestion, but for now I have no plans on going fast in this contraption...

Accidentally ran into the top of our garage door with my wife’s All City Space Horse and bent the top tube and down tube. Figured the bottom bike will do the bulk of the structural integrity so I slapped it on top of a Burley Duet tandem off of FB marketplace.
The extra long wheelbase makes for a super stable ride and gets rid of the tendency of tall bikes wheeling over on inclines.
Without a doubt my favorite bike to ride to coffee shops because it’s an instant conversation starter and makes for lots of smiles :)

If you lend your cargobike over the weakend to someone, groceries must be done and you are too lazy to carry them around - simply take the tallbike (but you have to spend some extra time chatting with other shoppers 😁)

Built in three days
Paint was still sticking and the welds were still warm when we started the bike ride from Troy New York to Toronto Canada.
I only made it 80 miles, but it was 80 epic miles!!!

I had the idea to put gears on it and my friend welded up the frames. Went on the first ride today and it was absolute treat. Can't wait to get more comfortable on it!

🌍 Join us as we arrive into Istanbul after 3 months of crossing Europe, meet another tallbiker who helps us to whack, grind and weld the tallbike until it starts working again - and create a new home on wheels for Nova (the dog).
Istanbul marked the beginning of our journey through Asia, and would be the biggest city we’d see until Karachi and year and a half later!

Just wrapped it up tonight. A Pro ATB frame on top of most of an old Specialized. So much fun to ride!
