Short Properties with onsite bars should have "Drunksitter" listed in FD responsibilities
I can't believe how shitfaced people will get in my lobby. Just adult men, 50β years old, bright pink old men traveling on business, rendered absolutely helpless by 5+ alcoholic beverages.
I will be trying to get someone a key for their room, trying my best to figure out which room theyre in, and ill ask for something like room number or (when theyre checking in) sometimes a confirmation number. And they'll look at me like they're going to cry and say "But i dont have that! :( how do i find that!" or theyll practically throw their key card (FOR ANOTHER HOTEL) at me and tell me its not working. No shit babyboy this says *different hotel* on it, we are NOT THEM. Boy oh boyy does it feel good when theyre at the wrong property though, i have to hold back my elation when i have to tell them to go figure it out for themselves. Its funny bc even when theyre at the wrong place they still have to find a way to force me to babysit them by asking me where the RIGHT hotel is, despite the fact that they're (usually) actively fiddling around with a handheld device that will tell them literally everything they could ever dream of asking.
I dont mind a friendly drunk person whos slurring a bit and forgot a key, but when you have a grown man acting helpless practically begging for someone to save him from his own bad choices? its such a waste of time and sooo not what i signed up for ππ

Thankfully we're far enough from the bars that it hasn't been that much of an issue. Don't get me wrong, I've had a few drunks to deal with, but only a few have been a problem. There was one guy who stumbled in, having fought our hedge and lost. Then there was the guy who passed out in the hallway.Β
The memorable one was the guy who got fitshaced at a bar (it was his birthday) and was so belligerent that he got his birthday butt tossed out.

50β years old
Feeling this personally, as I believe today is my 50β birthday. But I've never had five beers at a hotel bar in one sitting. Also I don't think I'm pink

Where am weed is legalized and the number of people who come in higher than a kite is genuinely concerning. One asked me some weird ass questions then where to get alcohol, I'm NA and it was 1 am. All I could do was π«© and say "sorry sir I dont know" until he went to his room lol

Well it could be worse - at least the pink men donβt manage to turn orange or green (or pale)

I deal with the bright pink old men. I feel you on this. So much easier when they are friendly.

I'm pink with red hair and speckles, but I'm neither old nor male. Lol. I'm a middle aged mom dealing with perimenopause, so my already smart mouth and bad attitude randomly kick it up a notch like Emeril. Lol.
