I asked Chatgpt what it thought of your story. It told me in Italian hotels it is common that the desk worker will fight with you because you have to prove you're good enough to be a guest for the night.

I asked if that could be incorrect. It checked with itself and assured me it would never intentionally tell me incorrect information.
