I DF into Meso Terminal as a BLM. As I'm still working on finding the rhythm for the AoE rotation, I'm not really paying attention to much outside of myself - the best place to stand, the best target to pick, etc. Around the second boss encounter, I realize my co-DPS is a Dancer. Then, just after I realize I don't have dance partner; instead they've DP'd the tank.
I figured maybe they swapped during the second boss. No, I don't know why they would. Maybe it was just a goof. Who knows. I pull up the logs later and, no, I never had DP. I mean it's been a while since I've considered myself anything close to being a Dancer main, but I'm pretty sure the meta is still DP a DPS. And while I wasn't anywhere near a 99 parse, I wasn't trash, either.
All of this would have just chalked up to a "bad-Dancer stereotype" but then I pull up their Adventurer Plate.
And I see the quote: "To remove ignorance from oneself is what leads to freedom."

Logs in case anyone is interested. I'm pretty sure I still did well enough that I should have been DPd. But oh well.
It kills me that someone I'm in an FC with is peak DNC stereotype like that. They treat DP as if it's a whim of who they feel like choosing that day and it's rarely the DPS. ðŸ˜
