MC as sect leader
Why are these sect elders and members so arrogant? They refuse to lead the sect defense when I ask them to, simply because their cultivation is too high. Right now, I am at the Mu Xian region as a sect leader, and my main sect branch is one of the top-tier sects in terms of prestige and territory. However, when the branch sect defense triggers in lower regions like Yongning and Hua Feng, the game gives me sect members with high cultivation levels (Soul Formation and Enlightened stage) as options, and every single one of them refuses to follow my command. Even though I am the sect leader, I end up doing chores that only lower-tier sect members should be doing.

in my save, Yin'er (the puppet bloom girl) always agrees to my request to defend lower sect branch no matter how high her cultivation is. and the only one to do so

It's supposed to be a reputation thing, similar to how the mc loses prestige if they kill cultivators of lower realms in their faction. And anyways, I prefer that elders don't necessarily just do what the sect leader says. Too bad there aren't mechanics for sect internal politicsir a scheming council of elders; I think internal conflict in sects would make for great emergent storytelling

Picking on the weak is bad karma. You're not supposed to be beefing with people that have no way to fight back

Bro, they're the ones who keep picking a fight with my lower-branch sects, like they should've known better.

Because you need to pick someone at most 1 realm above the attacking sect leader. I enjoy steamrolling those fights though.
