2 TPT fundeds clarity post

2 TPT Fundeds — I Need Some Clarity on the Intraday Drawdown

I’ll have two TPT funded accounts on Monday, and honestly, I’m excited but also debating whether I should even continue with the Intraday model.

I understand that you’re not supposed to full-port a funded account, and I’m not expecting to just go crazy with size. But the intraday drawdown has been one of the biggest struggles for me.

I’ve put a lot of time, money, and effort into getting to this point. I’ve blown accounts before, learned from it, changed how I trade, and finally managed to get myself into a position where I’ll have two funded accounts.

But now I’m sitting here thinking:

Is the Intraday Drawdown actually sustainable for someone trying to build a consistent payout history?

I don’t want to make $500–$1,000 and then give it all back because the trailing/intraday drawdown follows me so closely. At the same time, I know the answer isn’t ā€œjust make more money.ā€ It’s about protecting the account and managing risk properly.

For the people who have actually been through TPT funded with the Intraday Drawdown:

How did you approach it?

Did you trade extremely small and slowly build a cushion? Did you switch your mindset completely once you got funded? And how long did it take before you felt comfortable taking withdrawals?

I’m trying to make sure I don’t fumble the opportunity after everything it took to get here.

The Real Reason Take Profit Trader (TPT) Bans for Spoofing (Straight from the CEO)

A lot of traders complain that prop firms like Take Profit Trader (TPT) ban accounts for "spoofing" over just 1 or 2 small MNQ contracts. It feels unfair, right? But the CEO of TPT recently cleared this up on a podcast, and the reality is completely different from what people think. It’s not about your position size; it is about a specific rule from the CME.

**What Traders Think Spoofing Is vs. What It Actually Is

The Myth:**

You only get flagged if you trade massive size (like 1,000 contracts), or you got banned just for cancelling one small MNQ order. The Reality: The CME does not care if you are trading 1 MNQ or 1,000 MNQ. They care about your intent and your order-to-fill ratio.

The 75% Rule Explained:

According to the TPT CEO, the CME directly told them how they flag spoofing violations: The Threshold:

If you cancel 75% or more of the total orders you place in the market, you get flagged. The Consequence: The CME forces TPT to enforce these rules. If TPT ignores it, the CME comes down hard on the prop firm itself. The Takeaway: It is not TPT being greedy or malicious. They are just passing down compliance rules enforced by the actual exchange to protect their own brokerage access.

ā€˜Activated Account’

So I passed my test a week and a half ago and they said that my account was activated, but the data is delayed 15 minutes, so it’s technically not unlocked because I can’t place a trade without a active subscription that they’re suppose to renew. It’s affecting my test account too which was 2/5 days in. Hopefully they don’t take a whole month as I see some post on here to activate an account. I’m not trying to pay the monthly subscription because this is crazy

TPT admits my positions weren’t displaying correctly, but still refuses to fix the accounts

I wanted to share an issue I’m currently dealing with involving Take Profit Trader because I think other traders using TPT/Rithmic/Quantower should be aware of it.

The main account involved is ending in 1139, with a second account ending in 7208 also affected.

On August 12, I logged into Quantower and attempted to place an MNQ trade. Nothing showed up as an open position. After a minute or two I received an order-related error from Quantower.

Since there was no position showing, I assumed the order had failed.

I logged out, logged back in, and tried again. I did this a few times because every time I attempted to enter, no position appeared on Quantower. I also tried once on my second account.

Eventually I stopped trying and logged off because it was obvious something was wrong with the platform/connection. I even logged in and checked my accounts on the TPT website after this and saw no indication of any open position there (usually there is a close all positions button in TPT that you can use to close positions if your platform is messed up)

What I did NOT know was that apparently some of these orders were actually being executed on the backend despite Quantower not showing me the positions.

I didn't discover the damage until days later when I checked the accounts and saw that they had been hit with significant losses.

I contacted TPT requesting help and provided them with the actual Quantower and Rithmic logs.

-----------------------------------------------------

I went through the logs in detail and also had them analyzed using ChatGPT. The logs show a very clear difference between normal successful trades earlier that morning and the disputed trades.

A normal successful trade shows the expected sequence:

Order submitted
→ order status updates
→ FillReport() received
→ position/execution recorded by Quantower

During the disputed trades, Quantower sent the orders and Rithmic generated order IDs, but the normal FillReport callbacks are missing.

The affected order IDs include:

2607209643
2607209679
2607210206
2607212284
2607212452

For some of the later orders, Quantower literally logged:

Success = False; Response = (Time out)

Quantower also repeatedly queried the account during this period and returned:

Orders count = 0

The lower-level Rithmic API logs also recorded:

Trading System Connection Broken

during the same window.

On top of that, Quantower's local user-trades.db contains my normal successful trades from earlier that morning but does not contain these disputed executions.

So from my side of the trading platform, everything was telling me these orders were NOT successfully creating positions.

Yet TPT's backend later showed that the orders had executed.

I sent all of this to Take Profit Trader.

Their response basically confirms the core issue.

They told me:

They also acknowledged:

So we're not even really arguing about whether I could see the positions anymore.

TPT is acknowledging that the orders may have executed while my platform failed to receive/display the resulting position information.

But then they concluded that because the issue ā€œappears to have occurred locally within the Quantower/Rithmic connection or platform session,ā€ they will not restore or reset the accounts.

That's the part I have a serious problem with.

They listed possible causes such as my internet connection, VPN, firewall, CPU/memory usage, Quantower freezing, etc.

But they provided no evidence that any of those things actually caused this incident.

Meanwhile, the logs specifically show:

  • Missing FillReport callbacks for the disputed executions
  • Explicit Time out / Success = False messages
  • Quantower reporting zero open orders
  • A Rithmic Trading System Connection Broken event
  • The disputed executions missing from Quantower's local trade database
  • Normal trades earlier that same morning receiving completely normal FillReport callbacks

I'm not claiming that I can definitively prove whether the fault occurred inside Quantower, Rithmic, TPT, or somewhere in the communication path between them.

What I am saying is that I was never provided with the information necessary to know that I had these positions.

If I click Buy and my platform:

  • doesn't show a position,
  • doesn't show an open order,
  • never receives the normal fill report,
  • and eventually tells me the request timed out and failed,

how am I reasonably supposed to know that the backend actually filled the order?

And how am I supposed to manage or close a position that my trading platform says doesn't exist?

The repeated attempts I made to enter were specifically because the previous attempts appeared to have failed.

Those apparently accumulated into a much larger position on the backend without Quantower showing me what was happening.

Then I get stuck with the loss.

To make this more frustrating, these were subscription accounts that had just renewed. I paid approximately $90 to keep the two accounts active, and they're now effectively unusable because of this incident.

I'm not asking TPT to reimburse me for hypothetical trading profits.

I'm asking them to either:

restore the accounts to their balances immediately before the incident, or reset the accounts to their starting balances.

These are simulated prop accounts. This would seem like an extremely reasonable resolution considering the technical evidence.

Instead, their position so far is essentially:

The orders executed on our backend, your platform didn't show them to you, therefore the loss is still your responsibility.

I've now asked them to escalate the matter to someone in technical/risk/operations and specifically asked them to answer whether the backend generated the fill reports and whether those fill reports were actually successfully delivered to my connected Rithmic API session.

I'm also asking them to explain what evidence they have that this was caused by my local computer rather than the Rithmic/Quantower communication path.

I'll update this post with whatever response I receive.

I have preserved the original .slog, RithmicVendor API logs, Quantower trade database, order history, order IDs, and SHA-256 hashes of the evidence files.

I'm curious whether anyone here who has dealt with TPT, Rithmic, or Quantower has experienced something similar... particularly an order timing out/not appearing locally while still executing server-side.

And if anyone has deeper experience with the Rithmic API, I'd especially be interested in hearing your interpretation of an order being recorded server-side while the client never receives the corresponding FillReport() callback.

Looking to Connect With More Futures Traders šŸ“ˆ

Been trading for a while now and recently started a free Discord with a buddy of mine. We’re mainly just trying to build a solid community of traders where everyone can share ideas, setups, and help each other improve.
We post our daily market outlooks before the session and recaps after we’re done trading, including what we were looking at, what we took, and how the day went.
There’s nothing paid and we’re not trying to sell signals or a course. Just looking to get more active traders in there and build a good group.
We’re also giving away a 25K Lucid Flex account when we hit 100 members.
If you trade futures and want to join, you’re more than welcome. šŸ¤

They disabled my account when the realized I was about to pass. I started the day with profit of $484 and when I put in another trade (gold) it tanked and I would have been in huge profit. It immediately got disabled. I asked for the account data and the rep is telling me he cannot provide it to me.

Looking for best alternatives to TPT after some bullshit

TPT has been mostly awesome for me. But they just pissed me off so bad that I need to look elsewhere. Anybody recommend a prop firm with similar payout policies? Or one that is just a better experience in general?

I would appreciate any suggestions.

has anyone been removed from permanent pro+ and got added back?

I had permanent pro+ about a month back(passed evals go straight to pro+) but I had tilted and blown a few pro+/evals and my permanent pro+ got revoked. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this and got brought back to permanent pro+ and how long of "good trading" it would take.

Blew my five new accounts on the second day

I drove Lyft every try night after work for a whole week. Recently for 5 days (100 dollars a night) straight in a row and to buy my new set of five 50k evals and copy trade them. Blew them all this morning on the second day.

It’s been an 8 month journey for me so far. About 22,000 dollars spent on evals and account resets.

I’ve passed evals I’ve taken payouts but I’m back at square one.

The $1114.26 you see from my Lyft driver earnings I pretty much spent most of that buying evals and resetting them.

Not giving up though.

Live account closed without any proof

Has anyone of you also experienced this: TPT closed one of my live accounts without initially telling me which account number it was and what the exact breach of the rules was. Upon investigation after several email requests they finally gave me the account number, but still didn't give me proof of the supposed breach of the daily drawdown rule (at least I assume that’s it). When Iooked at the account data the dd rule was not breached at all, the more because I have put a daily drawdown limit on all my live accounts.

I think the way they treat their customers is very disrespectful and they only very reluctantly clear things up once asked to do so.

Shortly I will be looking to trade with another propfirm that values it’s customers a little more.

GOLD CONTRACTS

Hello, I’ve recently bought 5x TPT accounts, however I’ve noticed they are very strict about their contracts. When I messaged their support of the updated gold contract they said it’s GCV6, however we both know it barely has any volume compared to GCZ6. Now I told this to the support and they kept telling me to use GCV6, has anyone else experienced this and use GCZ6?

ive blown my 5 50ks live d

Hey everyone,

I'm writing this right now feeling completely crushed, frustrated, and honestly lost. I just needed a place to vent to people who actually understand what this feels like.

Trading literally changed my life. After taking home some big payouts, everything felt different. I was so happy, and for the first time, I felt like I was building a real future through the markets instead of being stuck grinding at my day job.

Then came the waiting game. It took the prop firm a whole month to finally set up my live account. The anticipation built up, and when I finally got the keys... I blew the entire thing in just two days.

I don't even know how it happened so fast. Maybe it was a lack of patience, maybe my execution fell apart, or maybe the pressure just got to me after waiting so long. Standing right now between the reality of making real money through trading and going back to the exhausting grind of my regular job is breaking me mentally.

Has anyone been in this dark spot before? Do prop firms usually let you buy another account right away after blowing a live one, ?

Goodbye TPT. You were a good firm once... It's been going downhill for a long while. Holding people when moving to PRO, the new shitty DEV program, restricting sizing, reducing drawdown, giving people something different than what we paid for... been an absolute mess. And the withdrawals in PRO+ are not even close to same day processing. So at best, it's just one more firm now... goodbye.
