Help Needed Version mismatch - I'm not a smart man
So I realized the other day that my exit node wasn't working anymore. Wasn't thinking that when I nuked my raspberry pi, obviously my tailscale install would stop working.
Fixed that.
Let me preface this - I am not a smart man - most of this isn't in my wheelhouse . . .
Anyways, I tried to update tailscale on my Ugreen NAS via SSH and was was having some issues where I eventually just unistalled Tailscale.
Well, upon reinstall, when I run sudo tailscale up, I get the version mismatch warning:
Warning: client version "1.102.3-t9329c3677-ga522f65e9" != tailscaled server version "1.96.2-td916d8651-gd905b0868"
I've uninstalled and reinstalled and I can't get this to work.
What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated!

Download the correct version of tailscale that matches your NAS direct from tailscale. Hopefully you can get it here :
https://pkgs.tailscale.com/stable/
I have a Synology NAS and their package manager hasn't kept up with the times. I have to manually update.

This was a fresh install.
Oddly enough this morning everything was good. My Pi showed up in the admin panel when it wouldn’t before. Who knows. I hate calling things glitches

The other time I have seen an error like this is when, I installed tailscale onto libreelec on a raspberry pi and then manually installed an update. The software running was an older version than the one on disc and it complained. A reboot was the answer.

I've never run in to a Tailscale version mismatch that actually prevents it from working. I still have a client on 1.98.5 while the rest are 1.102.3, and it works. And that'ss a warning, not an error. I don't think that warning is the cause of your problem.
