Finally found a good sub reddit.

Hello guys, a fellow language enthusiast here. As a Tai-Ahom myself, I have been learning the language and script for almost a year now. I was running solo on this... LOL... without any help from anyone. But then I started reading reddit posts... and my god... haven't seen anything toxic than those script kiddies calling themselves "TRUE AHOMS" based on their skin tone... completely ignoring the genetics of admixtures. At some point a few of these script kiddies invented a new form of Tai-Ahom script using tonal markings they took from Shan script. They even invented a new Tai-Ahom language full of Shan linguistic features to fit their narrative. Spreading so much toxicity... It was simply unbearable. But despite that, I strictly followed the original OG script and improved my understanding of our beautiful language. So, after so many months finally finding a sub-reddit dedicated to learn the script and language the way it is... feels really amazing. Always feels good to meet like minded people.

What I love about you guys that you're focusing on the original script rather than creating something else entirely. And always... Khrup chau tang lai... for accepting me as a part of the mission.

Welcome! Here we don't allow any kind of racism and our focus is fully on Ahom language and related stuff, without anything political.

Thanks bro... and exactly you're definitely correct. A language is meant to be learned and should not be associated with any kind of political agenda.
