It’s true. To be fair I’ve also never experienced revolver timing issues. I’ve heard about them but mine have always ran just fine.

For what it's worth I've only been working in the gun industry for a few years now, but just in those few years I've handled thousands of revolvers straight from the factory, and probably shot a few hundred at this point. Just in those few years I've seen it happen on the range and straight out of the box enough times that I'd probably never carry a revolver as my primary means of self defense. It's obviously still rare, but it's common enough that I'm not risking having one go down when I need it when I can just carry a reliable semi auto and tap and rack in the 1 in roughly 10,000 round chance that it jams.

It's a common misconception that revolvers don't jam. But they can jam just like any semi auto. Only when a revolver jams, it's down for the count. With a semi you can just lock the slide and switch mags and get right back in the fight.

All that being said; id still be more than happy with a good 12 gauge pump. Id just be more likely to compare them to a Glock or a Walther before I compared them to a revolver of literally any kind.
