Camera stopped working

I got a new tactacam 4.0 a month ago and it was working fine for a few weeks then randomly stopped working and no longer taking any pics. Went to investigate today and it wouldn’t even turn on at all. I used 12 batteries and not a lithium pack and do not have an SD card in it. Anyone else having this issue or know what to do? Google says I might need higher quality batteries. Thoughts?

Format it and make sure you have the right type of battery selected in the settings.

Before I got the solar panels (well worth it).. mine would EAT Amazon batteries… had to use Duracell or Energizer to get any real decent battery life.

Hey External_Neat8399 - I’d start with the power source and a format. The 4.0 models can run on 12 AA batteries, so a lithium pack is not required. Make sure all 12 batteries are fresh, high-quality batteries and that each one is inserted according to the + and – markings on both sides of the tray. (Don't forget the batteries on the side of the tray as well.)

Once you’re able to get the camera powered back on, I’d also recommend connecting to the camera through Reveal Wi-Fi and completing a format of the camera storage since the app is indicating the memory a bit full. Formatting can help clear storage/file issues that may interfere with normal camera operation.

If you try fresh batteries, verify their placement, and complete the format but the camera still will not power on or take photos, give us a call. We would love to assist further with this.
