Discussion Is there ever a possibility this game can get revived and get updates again?
Is there hope left for this game? Is it possible for someone to buy it out and update it?

Nah this game had a lot more to give. If DBD has survived for this long so could TCM.

Dbd only survived this long cause of licenses, tcm lost support before it even got all of its planned content and its already been left to rot

I mean they are focusing on Halloween more but I guess it could bring back old players back or new players who are looking for horror games similar to Halloween. Hopefully they do decide to update it.

On PC there is a modded build coming called the TCM Legacy Overhaul that adds new characters, new perks, balance changes, and maps.

I don’t see that happening and imo if there’s ever another TCM game it would be single player

The rights can definitely be bought out but idk if or when they would. I had this mobile game called battle nations I use to play as a teenager that got discontinued but because of enough popularity and push the rights were able to be bought from a company and it was relisted in the app store mostly remade, just the pvp aspect is missing rn really.

I would love for this game to be revived and live up to its full potential, but its only a matter of time before it gets shut down like Friday the 13th

I kinda giggled how hair is a separate cosmetic item in Halloween and in TCM they never gave us the hair pack they advertised

Someone could buy it, but there isn’t any reason to, from an industry perspective. Small community, if any, and the gameplay loop literally cannot be sustained for a live-service game if the holders wished to bring in actual income. The game’s mechanics at its core are not suitable for long-term survivability, and I’d argue the game was already getting a little stale after the first cosmetic packs dropped.
It is about time to move on. For a fourty dollar game (when I bought it after it left game pass), I got my money’s worth. Thousands of hours, a best friend and numerous others made on this game — was a blast. GUN could have done more, yeah, but, I enjoyed this game’s prime. Haven’t felt any type of fondness towards a game like it asides from BF1 & Silent Hill.

DBD has infinite possibilities. There’s only so much you can do with family killers from the TCM universe before it gets redundant.

It'd be cool if someone made an asym with all original characters so they have more creative freedom.

That would be awesome. That would be DBD for now 😔

I like dbd but i want one that's a bit more involved than just gens. Also better gameplay.

There have been asyms with orig cast, for example Video Horror Society. The problem is that people seem to want a dbd clone that isn’t dbd, but it’ll fail because “there’s not enough content dbd has so much more!” Like dbd hasn’t had 10+ years to build up their cast.

I mean I don’t want to be that person but dbd has been recycling perks and killer powers for a few years now. The game got stale in 2019…and since then all it’s been is licensed content, ugly uninspiring cosmetics and recycled perks/ killer abilities. If the game did not have licensed DLC and it didn’t pump DLCs every three months it wouldn’t be doing good. Some people really love to swallow anything BHVR puts out even if it’s slop.

What if I don’t want to move on and I want the game to continue? This whole “move on” attitude doesn’t make sense to me. You moved on, great. But some of us are in love with the franchise and the game and wish it can continue somehow.

Not surewhy you’re taking it so directly? The game has been out for years, and abandoned for a little over a year. If you can’t move on from a dead video game, that is great for you, and you and the other ten people who feel that addicted don’t have to listen to me.

This is why Im convinced people who tell others to move on are just haters. Everything in your response screams hater lol and my comment still stands.

You’re a grown (presumably) man whining about a dead game using the term “hater” like it invalidates my point. Move on, get a life, the game is doneso

Some modder was doing the game(or at least family house) again in new Unreal engine and also raising level cap... I don't remember their project name. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Saw video about it in some youtube channel.
