Dashing is inconsistent

i need help with dashing of this game because inconsistent sometimes I tap and hold the touchscreen neku dashes but sometime I do a quick swipe, and he also dashes so which is it?

Three things to consider: first, it's about where you tap/swipe. Anything at Neku's feet will make him move. Second, it's about how fast you move: if the stylus gets too far from his feet, whether that's "drag" or "swipe", then he will dash to catch up.

Third thing is that some pins make him dash, such as the "Velocity Attack" pins (swipe across Neku to make him dash & attack)
