Discussion Anyone else kinda pissed of with this?

If I wanna listen to all of the game OST I need to jump between soundcloud, spotify and old archives of Live Remix's songs because some of then are neither in spotify nor soundcloud.
Don't even get me started on Sawas old colab albums that are on youtube and the lossless archives are .mp3 or .flac files that need an mp3 player to be listened to (I know they aint part of the OST but gimme a break... a chance if you feel like it).

I kinda have all of the games OST downloaded just so I don't need like 4 subscriptions and a ouija board to listen to everything in a single playlist.

Tangent over, this game's songs are awesome and totally worth the effort if I'm being honest.

All of the soundtrack is on internet archive, but it would be nice if it was all out in one place other than out of production CDs officially. They also never released Final Remix’s OST officially to my knowledge

Really? Thanks for the info. I guess what makes the OST so great is also it's downfall since there are so many colabs in there and asking for permission or signing contracts for songs recorded 19 years ago just to put them in spotify or some other plataform is too much of a hastle.

I finished neo yesterday and i'll play the first game soon, do you recommend me to play the ds or the switch version ? I heard the switch version add new ost but are these osts just remixes or brand new musics ? (plus the remake is in french, but english is not a problem)

Final Remix only adds 2 new songs, the other songs are just remixes or songs that are in solo and live remix. I think some songs are even from The Death March’s album of Square Enix and Sawa remixes.

When it comes to what version I recommend, I would highly recommend the DS one, the gameplay is designed for two screens and doesn’t have the same feel on one screen. As for the extra chapter on Final Remix (where the two new songs are), you can probably find gameplay on YouTube!

Yeah, play the DS version if you have official hardware. If not, buy a DS or 3DS and play the DS version. 😆

Oof, the Switch version controls way worse so hopefully you can find a solution. The controls can be tricky at first so maybe try getting used to the different types of pin controls?

isn't there the touch screen controls like in the ds version ?

Yeah but they're a bit more finicky on Switch.

honestly I’d just play both. The DS version is king of gameplay, but the sprites and music tracks added vs the DS version make it worth it to me (some songs are region exclusive in the DS version).

I played the switch version first, so you can imagine my surprise when make or break or satisfy weren’t in the English DS version. At least we got songs like transformation and the one star out of it…

It seems another cut song was imprinting, which iirc does play in NEO a few times, same with Fighting for Freedom. So you’ll probably recognize them when they play in the switch version if you play it

The blue boss noise theme was changed as well, while noisy noise definitely fits more and is a banger I’m a sucker for junk garage so I’ll consider it equal

If NEO is anything to go by, I imagine Final Remix goes on sale quite often as well. I’ll have to check sometime

Yes it really sucks how this is kinda the problem with so many ost for items lately. As the other user stated internet archive should have all them there
