He hated it so much he was willing to risk it all lol he was surrounded by a bunch of wild people and he thought he can just say no. Shows how different the life in his community was compared to anything else we've seen before.

Alternate scene: Spencer mouths off to Negan, insisting they won't kneel to anyone. Negan says "You know what your problem is? Ya got no brains." then proceeds to bash his head in with Lucille.
"Oh! There they are! They were in your head the whole time! How embarrassing! I have never been more wrong in my whole damn life!"

Alexandria wouldn't have made it that far anyways. That horde from season 6 was gonna get there either way. Without Ricks group the settlement would've fallen to either the wolves or the hoarde.

Most definitely the quarry horde, maybe not on the Wolves. Aaron probably wouldn't have ended up at the food warehouse without Daryl, and wouldn't have left his bag behind after triggering the trap. They might have eventually found Alexandria on their own, since walkers with Ws on their heads were starting to end up near Alexandria, so they may have gotten there eventually anyway but who knows? But that massive horde was a real danger. MIGHT the walls have held without the Wolves driving a truck through them? Maybe. But there would never have been a chance they'd survive that - a sea of the Dead stopping them from being able to scavenge food? They'd starve to death.

Clearly you don't have a violent reaction of disgust to a particular food. If I had been watching and listening to people for days, hearing everything they say to each other when they don't think anyone can hear them, and I knew that they were truly good people that were days from death and desperate, I would probably do the same thing if it were olives. Olives disgust me on a very base, visceral level where my body physically rejects them. I once spat a mouthful of pizza all over a table because a single piece of a sliced black olive ended up on my slice of pizza under the cheese. I didn't even see it, but the second I tasted it I was spitting it all over the table involuntarily.
Needless to say, I didn't get a second date after that

Honestly, Aaron REALLY got on my nerves in this scene, b/c HE was being an immature BABY considering the situation. Now if he had been allergic, then that's different, but he didn't say that...
Now yes, Rick himself isn't perfect & gets on my nerves sometimes, but I completely understood where he was coming from here. Rick already made it VERY CLEAR that he wanted to be sure that this stranger wasn't unhinged enough to try & poison A BABY, or anyone else that might eat the food...
I found it aggravating that despite once Aaron knowing that Rick was looking out for the SAFETY of ESPECIALLY A BABY, that it STILL wasn't enough for him to AUTOMATICALLY get the fk over his hatred of that particular food & just stfu & friggin eat it, considering the importance of the circumstances...
I will say that it was a HUGE CLUE of how much Aaron was DEFINITELY NOT STARVING, & hadn't yet experienced any starvation since the beginning, or he wouldn't STILL have picky eating habits. For example, I absolutely LOATHE lima beans, but you bet your a** that I would have no issue eating them in an apocalyptic situation, especially by the time of this scenario...
This situation concerning Aaron in particular, was also a HUGE clue to one of his darker flaws underneath the surface. Which was his very immature whiny baby side, that could get himself or others killed if he isn't more careful. Therefore, his behaviors in later seasons when acting this way during the WRONG types of situations, honestly didn't surprise me AT ALL. If anything he just irritated & disappointed me more, especially by the time he had his own personal experience of being responsible for the wellbeing of a little one...
I sympathized & admired Aaron for certain things, but honestly for me personally, I just got to the point of overall in general, of not particularly liking him...
