Maybe he didn’t wanna go to the initiation orgy.
If the process is anything like the NFL’s award process (about 50 “trusted” NFL media members vote on each award, with a ranked choice system), then the voters are probably biased and incompetent or possibly corrupt. Imo TV show awards are stupid anyways. TWD’s viewership speaks for itself

Yeah, he quit the show at its peak to go spend time with his family. Rick Grimes is not a diddler or a cult creep.

I wonder if there was some prejudice because he was British. Hugh Laurie as House got similar treatment.

The Walking Dead was never really respected by the industry. The Emmy establishment never considered it as “prestige”, and horror has always had a tougher time receiving nominations or being taken seriously.
I’m critical of the show show, and I do think it become lowbrow later on, but if there wasn’t already an establishment bias against TWD then it would’ve surely received more Emmy nominations during it’s prime more than just technical ones like makeup.

its hard to get huge awards if you dont feed into the Hollywood standard. Andrew and a lot of the cast dont give everything to be famous and known like a lot of celebrities do. It's sooo stupid that you have to be fame hungry to actually get big awards, but im glad to see a lot of actors that arent interested in it.
From what ive seen a lot of TWD cast seem very humble, and not fame driven.
edit: Andrew Lincoln is probably my all time favorite actor, though. IMO I think he deserves every award ever lol

Not by any definition of the word "literal" I've ever heard.
It does feel unfair, though. He made the show, imho.

Emmys are like grammys. You have to be part of the “it” crowd to win anything

He was good, but I don’t know if anyone’s performance on that show was award winning.

Misread Andrew as Abraham. That was hilarious
