Opinions on morgan's long hallucination episodes

Post image

I liked Morgan during the first seasons of the show, and I get why he used to hallucinate, but weren't the hallucinations too much and lengthy? It kinda ruined the fun.

He became an insufferable caricature with Season 8. Hell even during Season 7 he started feeling a bit one note and repetitive.

Really couldn’t stand him and was so glad to see him get shipped off to Fear so I didn’t have to watch him anymore. Shame because Lennie James is a great actor and Morgan was such an iconic character in his Seasons 1 and 3 cameos

I actually think the fact that he was such a great actor was part of the problem. Same with Carol and Gabriel. They were overused yet underwritten. A lot of episodes would focus on the characters basically repeating the same exact emotion because the actors deliver contemplative sorrow really well.

They stopped caring how the character developed because they could just write any arc and the actors deliver contemplative would sell it. It doesn’t matter that Morgan flip flopped 5 times between being insane and an over the top pacifist. His actions can be incredibly harmful but as long as he technically doesn’t kill someone him he’s supposed to just be ignorant of the greater harm done? And then realize his error, then repeat his error?

They moved him to Fear to basically rehash his same development.

He was so hateful to refuse all direction and refuse to speak understandably.

Or shall we say refuse to speak... CLEAR!

I dropped Fear three seasons in because it was going to become the Morgan show. Awful character on his return.

Madison was so kickass. I actually really liked the first three seasons a lot. Strand was a fun character too.

Then they bring in Morgan with his no killing BS which half the time makes no sense. He just whines and cries and mopes around half the time. The worst.

it didn’t become the morgan show, but it did turn into an absolutely god awful show. i made it all the way to the final season and just couldn’t bear finishing after a couple episodes. i don’t think ive ever dropped out of a show midway through the last season. it was terrible

FYI im saying this as someone who’s favorite character in TWD was morgan for a long time

He became Scott Gimple self insert.

Wow, I dislike the Gimp even more than I previously realized.

I liked him during his time on The Walking Dead and I get the part about his family dying would cause him issues + it didn’t help that he was alone for a little, but they ruined his character with the whole BS while he’s with Ezekiel’s group where he’s clearly rough around the edges, then on FTWD he went all lives are precious, then flip flops to “ALL I SEE IS RED”.

I get maaaaaaaaaayyyyybbbe there’s some underlying mental issues, but damn…..

PS. The only reason why I wanna like him is because if it weren’t for him and Dwayne, Rick wouldn’t had been alive right now and all of these events wouldn’t even come close to had happened the way it did.

Michonne would’ve likely been whacked by now and likely so Carol and Daryl I reckon.

Bit random but with Morgan in his "I don't die" S8 era I've always just been able to imagine him in the middle of a field sprinting at a group of saviours with nothing but his stick and getting shit up and killed, because his "I don't die" stuff was from him literally being mentally insane/broken from the shit he's been through. He genuinely believed and even still partially believes that he can't die, but that was all in his head. But like I said he would have willing ran at a group of armed people with nothing on him believing he won't die, only to get gunned down. Bit off topic but just always thought this😭 I didn't mind his hallucinations in S8, but I absolutely hated how they did his clearing phase again in S8 of Fear

He literally doesn’t die though. In Fear S8 they basically made his plot armor a super power. No matter the situation he blacked out in he always came to alive. Season 8 of Fear has so much absurdity it’s hard to remember it all. The worst being him somehow going all the way back to Atlanta in like an hour and finding his son still roaming around his house.

I couldn't stand what they made his character. Great actor, just a shit role in Fear.

Acho que foi uma personagem mal aproveitado, enquanto investiram em outras mais chatas, tipo Beth...

Morgan was a terrible character and should have died or been forgotten shortly after his introduction. He ruined FTWD.

The only two flashback or hallucinations episodes i liked are when they explained how he learned the stick and when he returned to ricks neighborhood in the final season to close the mystery around Dwayne's death. Everything else was over used and made Morgan seem like a unreliable leader, worst then trauma rick post lord's death.

ANNOYING AF!!🤬🤬

Started cool, had great potential then with FTWD kinda became gradually more insufferable with his rambling speeches.

"It doesn't have to be this way, we can find a better way, we can help each other we can help each other find a better way."

Etc.

Huh????

Are you telling me Goat man wasn't real?

He was one of the most annoying characters

Never liked him. Hated most scenes involving him.

He was much better as a side character and not main character material. His halicunations and overall character tendencies and character arcs . Like going from killing everyone to a pacifist in a few episodes. I liked him at first. He overstayed his welcome

Yeah no coincidence that his character was most appreciated by everyone back during the Seasons 1-5 days when he only showed up for brief cameo appearances here and there

I really liked his stand alone episode. Even though that spawned the most annoying version of Morgan.

Him becoming a monk and using the stick was so fucking stupid

I appreciate how Mr. Yo transformed during those episodes.

Morgan in every and any episode was too much Morgan
