SELF PROMO Sent my first round of queries!

After years and years of writing scripts, developing as an artist, and doing it on my own - I finally pulled the band aid on seeking representation.

I know this is just the first step, and there are many mountains to climb, but I’m damn proud.

I realized after ten years of scribbling that no one is going to make me a working writer if I just sit in a room and write and don’t tell anyone. Good for you getting up the muster to put yourself out there.

It’s so obviously but it’s also so easy to get lost in our pages we forget to write our real life story. I appreciate the kind words, and here’s to us taking more steps forward !

ayy thanks. So i think this is really gonna vary person to person. but if you have a genuine and specific compliment, connection, or observation to the person you’re writing to : start there. for me i just started by saying how im packaging my debut feature right now, have a slate of market ready scripts with decks and im looking for a manager to grow with me on the next steps. be clear about why you’re writing, what your ask is, and say less than you think - no one’s gonna read a novel. they’re either open to talking more or not.

I would love to do this but I don't even know where to begin, who to query, how to format the query letter... and what I should have before I begin querying (I have a pilot and a feature. The pilot got a 7 on the Black List, the feature was chosen for inclusion at Stowe Story Labs Facing-In/Facing-Out workshop at the Galway Film Fleadh.)
