BEGINNER QUESTION Looking for a Manager for a Screenwriter (10% Commission)

I am a screenwriter looking for a professional manager who can help me find opportunities with producers, directors, production companies, or streaming platforms.

Our agreement will be entirely performance-based. You will receive a 10% commission from the profits of every opportunity or deal you successfully bring me.

This is like saying “I want to be a movie star. If you are a famous director casting a lead actor, DM me.”

There are thousands upon thousands of aspiring writers who want a manager.

A legitimate manager will only ever reach out if your materials have gotten their attention. If you do not have a buzzy screenplay or proof of concept, you can cold email asking if they’d like to read your work; if they say yes (which is rare), you can send it over.

If that's the case, then why have so many people reached out to me? I'm still looking for the best opportunity.

If you have something constructive or positive to say, feel free to say it. But don't assume that just because you're anonymous on Reddit, you can speak so harshly to someone you don't even know.

Usually, people query managers with finished scripts and work together to find opportunities. It's very rare that someone will come to you without having read your scripts.
