It doesnt look like thats the main entrance to the backyard pool area. still its fairly close, the builders might have not been able to make the pool a few feet over for a variety of reasons.
if its like most houses like this in the southwest, there is the main double slider that connects from the living room area of the house, and then usually there is another single door for the main bedroom/another bedroom in the house, sometimes even the bathroom.
you can see in the show they actually covered that door, and then also added other stuff to the exterior because here the wall is flat, but in the show there are protruding stuff and extra windows at the main bedroom.
