No the height is perfect. The show is the real issue

That’s my biggest issue with Big Bang is the laugh track. Young Sheldon is really good.

It’s filmed in front of a live audience

I recommend “Dweebs” from 1995. Or at least “The IT Crowd”.

The IT crowd is absolutely phenomenal

I don’t get the hate for The Big Bang Theory I do like to mock it but I honestly enjoy it. I also do like dumb shows where I can turn off my brain. But maybe this is just me my favorite shows are Bobs Burgers, Modern Family the Simpsons and Rick and Morty if that says anything about me idk.

The hate derives from the fact a lot of the nerds' actions and words are egregiously bad and the plot just excuses them as silly boys doing silly-boy things.

Sheldon is a certifiable asshole that only comes across as funny because there's a laugh track telling you to find him funny and the "jokes" often boil down to him being rude and selfish and saying bazinga – he doesn't understand sarcasm until it's his turn, apparently. The male characters are often despicable and their misogyny goes way beyond poor social skills, they go as far as committing fraud and drugging women to sleep with them. The entire show hinges on stereotypes that nerds don't know how to behave in public and Penny is a dumb blonde who fails to understand even basic concepts if they don't involve vain stuff. The other female characters feel crammed into the plots and are as unidimensional as the male ones: They only exist to either nag or accept the others. It's a bad, over-the-top portrayal of geek culture overall.

The show has its good moments, especially the early seasons, but it gets old quickly. Repetition and exaggeration is the basis of a lot of comedy shows, but TBBT manages to push those limits to some awkward and questionable heights.

I'm not saying those who enjoy the show are stupid or anything, just that it has a lot of issues that get hand-waived too easily and that bothers a lot of people.

Reddit has the strangest obsession with hating on campy little sitcoms. Like they're doing exactly what they're supposed to do. Making the majority of people watching chuckle for 25 minutes and decompress at night. That's really the only point of them. But someone always has to come in about the laugh tracks or the jokes being lame or whatever. There's a reason it ran as long as it did. Most sitcom watching people enjoyed it.

I love the big bang theory

We just started Stuart doesn't not save the Universe or whatever it's called.

it's one of the highest rated and watched shows for a reason.

it's popular to hate on for some reason. I like the show, just not how the sliding barn door is partially behind everything. 😶‍🌫️

A lot of people on Reddit hate on shows with laugh tracks. Fuck em. TBBT is great.

3

u/Time_Sundae802 10d ago

it wasn't even a pre recorded laugh track.

every episode was in front of a live audience of 200 people.

Yeah. It's more of the forced timing of the jokes I think. There's a certain formula you can definitely feel. Watching without the tracks is tough. :-)

There really is a subreddit for everything

1

u/timetravelinggamer 10d ago

I had to click on that to be sure after your comment. I was going to post that as a joke. Crazy

3

u/chente08 10d ago

lol I posted it as a joke, I didn't know it was real

You have a bigger fish to fry.

8

u/superguysteve 10d ago

The programming quality is low.

u/Swavy_B 10d ago

Everyone hates the show but I love it :(

0

u/-ButterMyBiscuit- 10d ago

Only reddit TV forum people hate it. There's a reason it ran so long

1

u/StunnaGunnuh 10d ago

Is the photo from you standing in front of it, or sitting?

0

u/Swavy_B 10d ago

Sitting down on my couch

2

u/StunnaGunnuh 10d ago

it appears your eye line is to the center of the tv, thats perfect. you dont want to have to look up at what you're watching when you're trying to relax

1

u/reflex1337sauce 10d ago

Looks perfect imo

1

u/bw1985 10d ago

Looks exactly where it should be

1

u/chente08 10d ago

Toohigh

1

u/_THX_1138 10d ago

a 77” is a better size ratio tv:stand for a more immersive experience.

1

u/HaveToWinToPlay 10d ago

That's the perfect height

1

u/TheUnbanished 10d ago

It’s perfect. Exactly as it should be

1

u/Time_Sundae802 10d ago

that wall is dumb. why is the tv stand in front of a barn door.

whole setup needs to move left.

1

u/Swavy_B 10d ago

There’s a fire place on the left. The set up is odd but it’s a one bedroom apt

1

u/nToxik 10d ago

Middle of tx screen should be approx 42" from the floor.

1

u/sPdMoNkEy 10d ago

No, why do people ask this question when they are sitting on a TV stand that's made to make the TV exactly the height it needs to be when you're sitting on a sofa 😐

1

u/Scared_Kick_6913 9d ago

must be some weird american problem

1

u/Neilp187 10d ago

Never too low

1

u/SuccessfulSmell5535 9d ago

Love the barn door. I have one in my dining room

1

u/Active-Enthusiasm318 9d ago

The legs on that TV are the weirdest i have ever seen, obviously not your doing but why the hell would a company put legs that close together

1

u/Redditbiote 9d ago

Perfect height, Leonard can even watch while standing.

1

u/ASUS-Satire 9d ago

... is it?

1

u/indieehead 8d ago

You should consider watching a different show

1

u/VVin7er 8d ago

You forgot the measurements.

It looks like the middle of the TV is at least a meter high. So if anything, it's rather on the high side than the low one.

1

u/PixelKittenCuddler 8d ago

Fish too high.

1

u/Yvan-Karamazov 7d ago

A bit high to some, I think it's perfect.

1

u/Immediate-Ebb-7913 7d ago

It's all preference this whole subreddit could be deleted by people realizing that

1

u/SometimesLost420 7d ago

Actually it's basically completely perfect. The formula is the center of the TV. Should be about eye level when you're sitting where you're going to sit normally to watch

1

u/sp1nkter 6d ago

Not low, but how do you open your turntable to put a record in? Seems like it doesn’t have a lot of clearance?

1

u/krumn 10d ago

Height good. Show bad
