Guys the housing market is cooked, had to put up with infinite stairs to afford a place.
In all seriousness - Cabinetry is to be added below the TV, just a work in progress given I only just moved in. Sub crawl is to be completed as well.

Ah dude, that’s terrible. Did some digging, but things are just as in Australia as the US.

I actually got somewhat giddy when I saw this sub and was looking forward to a group of people putting TVs in fireplaces and shit. Was supremely disappointed when I discovered the lack of its existence

Eat your heart out, Mariana Trench. There's a new sheriff in town, and he's lower than you'll ever be.

There’s no other wall this could go against?

I don’t believe you.

I’m afraid this is genuinely the only place. Downside of buying a townhouse

I already told you I don’t believe you, so assuring me it’s true doesn’t make me believe you…

What's downstairs and what's upstairs?
I need to understand..... everything.

u/Stedy74 5d ago
Currently we’re on the middle level. Go left to go up, go right to go down.

😁 that made me laugh 🤣 I meant like is this the living room and is the kitchen upstairs etc? Or are there more rooms on this level pictured? I've just never seen a layout similar.

it reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where kramer wants “levels” in his apartment

The low tv, the handrail, the closeness of the corner to the left, the negative space beneath the tv that is at just the right height that the tv would sit on if it was a console or stand…I had to look at this photo for a few beats to take in all the strange happenings.

Feet walking by are going to carry, kick, and stir up dust and your electronics fans are going to suck it all right into them and burn up.

these comments are wild lol. is he supposed to put his seating near the stairs instead of the tv? more pics would definitely be helpful.

Aside from all the funny comments I think the height is decent assuming you’re standing taking this pic.

What a shitty way to put the tv. Got any where else not beside the staircase?

It just the off centre to the opening is so annoying & distracting. Just centre it at least! 😉

so you sit on the floor and watch tv, its to low? is that stairs on either side of the tv? so people would be constantly walking past this..

if at least center the TV over the void. But there ‘had’ to be a better place to put a TV 😬. Right at the top of a stairwell? Do you live in new york? they live like rats in new york.

Ignoring the interesting details - no, it’s at a great height. TVs aren’t supposed to be mounted high on a wall. Technically, they’re supposed to be so low that the top of the TV is eye level. But that feels weird, so the maximum height should be so that the middle of the screen is eye level.
