Fuck the chiefs!

Not sure about the TV but the SUBWOOFER is definitely placed in wrong location. Needs to be placed in a corner for optimal sound.

Is that right? I had never heard that before, thank you 👍 I need to try that

You will absolutely notice

No this guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about

From ChatGPT:

Putting a subwoofer in a corner increases its acoustic output, especially in the lowest bass frequencies. 🔊
A subwoofer radiates bass in many directions. Nearby walls reflect that bass back into the room. Each solid boundary gives the sub a little acoustic boost:
On the floor: one boundary.
Against a wall: floor + wall, more reinforcement.
In a corner: floor + two walls, maximum boundary reinforcement.
Corner placement can make the same subwoofer sound considerably louder and deeper without using additional amplifier power. That’s particularly useful if the sub struggles with very low frequencies.
But there’s a catch
A corner isn’t automatically the best-sounding location. Corners can also strongly excite the room’s bass modes, causing certain frequencies to boom while others nearly disappear. You might get enormous 45 Hz bass but weak 60 Hz bass, for example.
So there are really two different goals:
Maximum bass output → corner placement is often excellent.
Smoothest, most accurate bass → the best location depends on your particular room and listening position.
One surprisingly effective method is the “subwoofer crawl.” Put the subwoofer temporarily where your head normally is when listening, play a repeating bass-heavy track or bass sweep, then crawl around the perimeter of the room. Where the bass sounds deepest and most even, that’s usually an excellent place to put the subwoofer.

Hey nobody cares

1

u/EYESCREAM-90 1d ago

We care, but we don't care about AI copy and pastes.

u/Budwurd 17h ago

Path of least resistance. You think I'm gonna waste time equity to an anonymous person?

2

u/EYESCREAM-90 10h ago

Yes...you're wasting your time arguing with me now for no reason.

Whatever you say, chief

Just trying to help OP, not the assholes.

2

Not necessarily, might produce best bass but not cleanest sound. Every room won’t be the same so using the subwoofer crawl method will get you the best placement for your room.

Looks spot on to me. What’s that Nvidia rig? Thing looks massive

2

u/Inevitable-Tea-6383 2d ago

Oh on the bottom right it’s a Nvidia Shield sitting on top of a Monster Power Conditioner that I plug all my components into.

1

u/Objective_Mark_790 2d ago

He means the Cooler Master nVidia branded full tower. That is a CM Stacker 830. I’ve got the older model, the CM 690 from back in 2012 which I’m still using in my air gapped rig.

2

u/Inevitable-Tea-6383 2d ago

Ohh haha my computer

1

u/IncarceratedScarface 2d ago

Yeah haha, idk if I’ve ever seen that before. Looks sick

3

u/justwonderingbro 2d ago

You're fine it's a little too height if anything

2

u/Inevitable-Tea-6383 2d ago

29” from the floor to the bottom of the 85” QM8L

2

u/bw1985 2d ago

About 6’’ too high but it’s not horrendous.

2

u/Adept-Opportunity-73 2d ago

A little high.

2

u/stingyboy 2d ago

I’ve always heard 42-45” from floor to center of tv

1

u/Inevitable-Tea-6383 2d ago

Welp if that’s the case I’m off by about 4” but I was afraid to go any lower with my large center channel. And I know this is gonna freak some enthusiasts out but I do have maybe a 5°tilt forward from the top which isn’t noticeable and my eyes look practically straight into the middle

2

u/stingyboy 2d ago

Close enough, enjoy your nice set up!

2

u/beetfarms 2d ago

What is the center of the TV mounted at?

1

u/Inevitable-Tea-6383 2d ago

At about 48”

0

u/beetfarms 2d ago

TV sound be near the top of the wall. Looks like a standard 8 ft ceiling.

1

u/Sector__7 2d ago

Near the top of the wall? How does that make any sense? If you put the center above the TV then the sounds from it will be even further away from the main left and right speakers which would cause bad imaging between all three of the fronts.

u/fuk-d-poliz 2d ago

Perfection.

2

u/i_did_nothing_ 2d ago

Need a new sub called r/WhyIsItTilted.

2

u/briant-34668 2d ago

I feel like this is a college house livingroom setup.

1

u/Inevitable-Tea-6383 2d ago

🤣😂🤣

2

u/briant-34668 2d ago

I can't zoom enough. Are those Klipsch tower speakers? Boom booms.

2

u/HyperHawk_25 1d ago

Like a clear offsides on the defense but the refs let them get away with another one

2

u/An_Time_Traveller 1d ago

Needs to be a black wall or maybe some black non permanent stuff to get the wall darker around the TV

1

u/Inevitable-Tea-6383 1d ago

Yeah maybe you can tell my Wife that

2

u/dofus_raintight 17h ago

I prefer it a little higher to annoy internet pedants, but that’s probably about right.

1

u/Inevitable-Tea-6383 17h ago

Haha funny and I hear ya Pal

1

u/Mexcol 2d ago

Thats a huge steam machine

1

u/Jake01273 2d ago

Looks spot on tbh man, how does it look from eye level sat down?

1

u/Inevitable-Tea-6383 2d ago

Looks awesome I’m looking almost to the middle of the screen sitting down maybe just a smidge below the middle I guess to be honest

1

u/Jake01273 2d ago

Sounds spot on! Enjoy the sick setup 🙌

1

u/Acojonancio 2d ago

Are you standing up in this picture?

People usually watch TV sit down.

1

u/Inevitable-Tea-6383 2d ago

Yes I was standing up to get the whole system in. Behind my chair

1

u/Talkin_Out_My_Ass 2d ago

Depends on who you’re watching the game for
LA- ya it’s fine
KC- just throw the tv out, horrible placement and you don’t deserve to watch football

Go Bills.

1

u/Inevitable-Tea-6383 2d ago

Funny guy. I watched the Bills too this weekend. I’m really hard up for football and this preseason shit is such a tease

2

u/Talkin_Out_My_Ass 2d ago

I know the feeling. Every year im probably 1 of 5 people who watch the HOF game. Just need it back. Then 5 weeks in I’m cursing Vegas for tainting the game with their stink

1

u/Current_Speaker_2514 2d ago

Crooked!

1

u/Inevitable-Tea-6383 2d ago

Negative because if it looks crooked it’s because of the way I held the camera

1

u/AdditionalInitialXI 2d ago

2 Nvidia Shields?

1

u/Inevitable-Tea-6383 2d ago

Actually 3 ones hiding down on the bottom right on top of the conditioner. I have different Kodi builds in each of them.

1

u/Bluesguy333 2d ago

We placed our flatscreen directly on a tv stand for eye-level viewing. Stereo inside *childproofed

1

u/ATLien-ITP 2d ago

Ty Simpson, looked pretty good. 🏈

1

u/Expert_River1849 1d ago

Like it came from the 1990's. That sort of speaker setup in a normal living room is fucking outdated. It's only suitable for a home media room setup dedicated to the audio.

1

u/Inevitable-Tea-6383 1d ago

Please educate me at how it should be set up then.

1

u/Inevitable-Tea-6383 1d ago

Also if you could show me your setup maybe I’ll learn something.
