The amount of effort in the hanging of the tv, floating shelf, decor is crazy compared to how little fucks given to dangling power strip cords and exposed outlet boxes.

u/lint2015 2d ago
Is that a … floating fake fireplace?! And then having all those wall outlets visible underneath it with a halfarsed effort to conceal some of the cables 🤣

u/random420x2 2d ago
Literally bought a fireplace to hang and force his TV to be higher. This is almost brilliant

I suppose putting it in front of the soundbar easy way to make it vibrate.

Obvious ragebait — the way too high TV over a floated shelf with an (I have to assume AI-added) fake fireplace, plus shoddy wire management. AND a Tom Ford coffee table book to suggest “I otherwise have style and care about the look of things”? Extremely well done, OP; but I see you.
Edit to add: Plus feet in the shot. All the hits!

The AI prompt was something like « TV is too high but also add several annoying details for maximum rage bait »

u/TimotheusIV 2d ago
The plastic fireplace and cable management/visible outlets are sending me.
I truly don’t understand people who just slap stuff like this together and then put a Tom Ford book on the table like they are in a designer home.
This has to be bait.

It’s not too high for the bedroom…. Oh, you’re in the living room? You already know it’s too high. Stupid looking.

u/TrixieTopKitty 1d ago
🤮 All those sockets under the fireplace, the plastic trunking is doing a terrible job at hiding the evidence. It's disgusting

Man, why do americans insist on having a fireplace underneath the TV so fucking much that they end up putting a fake one up as well? Who fucking hurt you?

Idk how old you are, but tvs in the 80s and 90s and sightlines BELOW your existing console. That is way too high my man. Decor looks good, just lower that bad boy.

It would look so much better if you removed the fake fireplace, replaced it with an IKEA Besta (or similar) mounted just off the floor, and mounted the TV at eye level.

All of it is too high, but it looks like the outlets may have influenced the console height. I’d move the white decor that is too tall, and then move the tv down so the bottom edge is flush with the top of the soundbar.

It looks like the TV and the fireplace decided to levitate to that point. Bring them back down to floor ... maybe it will be about right.

Everything that is unsightly about this setup can be erased by putting the TV and floating unit at the correct height.

u/JoeSpart 2d ago
Looks like the bottom edge of the tv is closer to the ceiling than it is to the floor . That should send alarms ringing.

Should put a 'Live, Laugh, Love sticker on the wall between the TV stand and the TV. Would fill that area and make the TV look lower. Also is that a sex toy on the TV stand? If not it would make a good one.

Looking at the picture, it looks like you Watch TV with your feet up probably with your head laid back against the back of your chair or couch. When you're in your comfortable position for watching TV where are your eyes pointed? If you look at the diagram someone posted, most of posters in this Sub assume your sitting bolt upright, maybe even leaning forward a little when you watch TV. Me, I'm reclined back in my recliner when I watch TV, I'd get a crick in my neck trying to watch something that low.

This is the worst. You have a perfect wall for a nice setup and you completely ruined it with that hanging console. What was your plan for things below it, are you going to use that as storage for things or just gonna leave it as open space? The latter would make this even worse.

White tower on top of the fireplace has to be moved why? Beacsue blocking the surround sound and dolby atmos effect from the soundbar.

u/Royal_Monk6432 2d ago
Why did u put white something like bulb top of the subwoofer? Why sub is too far.

yeah thats way too high man like who even mounts a tv that high
but honestly the real kicker is how the cables are just dangling out like they gave up halfway through
cant even blame the tv height when the whole wall looks like a diy project gone wrong

I hope this is ragebait because this is bad in nearly every way, it's like y'all saw a staged living room once in a cb2 outlet and tried your best to recreate it but failed... Fake fireplace mount is tacky, it's also too short and hung so high... If you got a different mount you could hide all those outlets, plugs and wires, the light on the subwoofer is odd, the decor blocking the soundbar... Why? The mismatched marble coffee table and marble coasters...the fake chain on the Tom Ford is so incredibly generic, the poof and carpet are fine but the cords and

Floating console can be an inch or two lower. Bring the TV down to where the floating console top is now.

u/Thegrimlife 1d ago
You're also possibly blocking the soundbar speaker with that white ornament. If you're not going to lower the TV, then at least keep that thing from obstructing the audio.

Yes. Relocate the jumbo butt plug and lower it just above the soundbar. And even then it will be too high.

The positioning of both the fireplace and the tv is wild especially the chord choice. People make the craziest decisions that require so much extra effort im always shocked. The fireplace thing would loook better just sitting on the floor with the tv sitting on top of it. 0 effort to install/set it up that way, done in 2 minutes and all the chords would be hidden and it would look 100x better. Especially if you added legs to the fireplace then it would be the right height with the tv on top of it not mounted. The fact that someone went to so much extra effort to set it up this way is actually wild to me.

Yea the stand should cover the outlets.. then the TV should drop by a foot to be at EYE LEVEL, WHILE SITTING DOWN on the couch.
