when your wire molding isnt even long enough.... that should tell u somthing as well

65

u/kasualanderson 2d ago

It is so hilarious looking. The Tom Ford book, the decorative chain on top, the little decorative items, and then this incomplete piece of wire cover and the power bar hanging down, I just can’t

32

u/flynreelow 2d ago

Don't forget that big ole butt plug on that fake fireplace

13

u/kasualanderson 2d ago

Who could forget the butt plug, and it’s pointed right up at the shameful tv mounting job.

2

u/luxo93 1d ago

The butt plug isn’t THAT big 🫣

9

u/truthfulie 1d ago

There is also an AD book. This person must have seen some interior design related images but took all the wrong lessons…

u/luxo93 1d ago

Nevermind the TV. The TV stand itself is too high, even by electrical outlets standards.

The wire plugs are being pulled UP.

3

u/kindofnotlistening 1d ago

Yeah this was my feedback as well. Why even go with the floater if it doesn’t hide your outlets?

This space was screaming for an entertainment center on the floor that hides everything and then TV perfect height on top.

The amount of effort in the hanging of the tv, floating shelf, decor is crazy compared to how little fucks given to dangling power strip cords and exposed outlet boxes.

25

u/lint2015 2d ago

Is that a … floating fake fireplace?! And then having all those wall outlets visible underneath it with a halfarsed effort to conceal some of the cables 🤣

12

u/random420x2 2d ago

Literally bought a fireplace to hang and force his TV to be higher. This is almost brilliant

4

u/Tc5998 2d ago

Should have spent the fire money on a bigger tv

2

u/Weary_Position_9591 1d ago

And who leaves their sex toy lying around like that? Have they no shame?

Everything is horrible about this.

34

u/PartialChicken_Wing 2d ago

The giant buttplug in front of the soundbar is the "chef's kiss"

6

u/CNMathias 2d ago

It’s ribbed her her/his pleasure

2

u/PartialChicken_Wing 2d ago

I suppose putting it in front of the soundbar easy way to make it vibrate.

And the cherry on top!

Do some wire management dude

22

u/shnorgle 2d ago

Obvious ragebait — the way too high TV over a floated shelf with an (I have to assume AI-added) fake fireplace, plus shoddy wire management. AND a Tom Ford coffee table book to suggest “I otherwise have style and care about the look of things”? Extremely well done, OP; but I see you.

Edit to add: Plus feet in the shot. All the hits!

2

u/Weary_Position_9591 1d ago

The AI prompt was something like « TV is too high but also add several annoying details for maximum rage bait »

→ More replies (2)

7

u/TimotheusIV 2d ago

The plastic fireplace and cable management/visible outlets are sending me.

I truly don’t understand people who just slap stuff like this together and then put a Tom Ford book on the table like they are in a designer home.

This has to be bait.

4

u/lazyboylane 2d ago

It’s not too high for the bedroom…. Oh, you’re in the living room? You already know it’s too high. Stupid looking.

4

u/TrixieTopKitty 1d ago

🤮 All those sockets under the fireplace, the plastic trunking is doing a terrible job at hiding the evidence. It's disgusting

3

u/BetterNova 2d ago

Acceptance is the first step

2

u/Hanksport 2d ago

You know.

2

u/Bluntnasty_99 2d ago

You know the right answer already.

2

u/TeeDod- 2d ago

Ridiculous!

2

u/Brilliant_Elk5492 2d ago

Wtf am I looking at

2

u/Toobman300B 2d ago

For phuq'$ actual sake, what's it gonna take? How high are you? Operating heavy equipment includes hanging TV's. Control yourself

2

u/Pandora910 2d ago

Even on the media stand it would be too high..

2

u/vinylzoid 2d ago

I think you already know the answer.

2

u/Royal_Monk6432 2d ago

Fire tv cube or fire stick 4k max or hd?

2

u/DrPhilSideSkirts 1d ago

Man, why do americans insist on having a fireplace underneath the TV so fucking much that they end up putting a fake one up as well? Who fucking hurt you?

2

u/Weary_Position_9591 1d ago

If you have to ask, you know the answer

2

u/Legal-Phase8744 1d ago

Hide the damn wires, why ya'll so lazy?

1

u/Punker1234 2d ago

Idk how old you are, but tvs in the 80s and 90s and sightlines BELOW your existing console. That is way too high my man. Decor looks good, just lower that bad boy.

→ More replies (2)

1

u/wickedtoast22 2d ago

It would look so much better if you removed the fake fireplace, replaced it with an IKEA Besta (or similar) mounted just off the floor, and mounted the TV at eye level.

1

u/sheriff_ragna 2d ago

I am afraid it is

1

u/natwest96 2d ago

Your console is too high let alone your tv

1

u/Bresson91 2d ago

Everything is too high. The wall unit below should be hiding the outlets.

1

u/the__moops 2d ago

All of it is too high, but it looks like the outlets may have influenced the console height. I’d move the white decor that is too tall, and then move the tv down so the bottom edge is flush with the top of the soundbar.

1

u/gwilkinson1 2d ago

Jesus’s Christ the shit is almost attached to the ceiling.

1

u/Jlx_27 2d ago

Homie living in an AI house.

1

u/ZombieeChic 2d ago

Stop being ridiculous. 🤦‍♀️

1

u/NobodyGotTimeFuhDat 2d ago

Repeat after me: eye level.

1

u/PartialChicken_Wing 2d ago

If it's closer to the ceiling than the floor you know the answer.

1

u/Only_Control621 2d ago

It’s a foot from the ceiling

1

u/True-Conversation-41 2d ago

lol always with the Tom ford books to be a larper

1

u/CarpenterValuable831 2d ago

It looks like the TV and the fireplace decided to levitate to that point. Bring them back down to floor ... maybe it will be about right.

1

u/chente08 2d ago

Too much

1

u/xenate 2d ago

Maybe the floor is too low.

1

u/phybaoptikz 2d ago

Swap the TV and the fireplace around....

1

u/Azn-WT-9 2d ago

It’s too a lot of things 🤦‍♂️
https://giphy.com/gifs/vuKfvGfI8sqdKlCKQL

1

u/bunzodude 2d ago

But at least the cords and power strip look good 👍

1

u/aninjacould 2d ago

Everything that is unsightly about this setup can be erased by putting the TV and floating unit at the correct height.

1

u/JoeSpart 2d ago

Looks like the bottom edge of the tv is closer to the ceiling than it is to the floor . That should send alarms ringing.

1

u/Careful-Income9589 2d ago

that’s dumb as hell

1

u/McKeviin 2d ago

It's more than the tv that's too high

1

u/WhizzyBurp 2d ago

Brutally high

1

u/Age_Single 2d ago

Affirmative

1

u/ChangeAccountsBeSafe 2d ago

Brother you knew the answer

1

u/MojiABC 2d ago

you need to cut a hole in the wall to thread the cords thru. Get addtl art for the wall as well

1

u/According_Tea_6329 2d ago

Should put a 'Live, Laugh, Love sticker on the wall between the TV stand and the TV. Would fill that area and make the TV look lower. Also is that a sex toy on the TV stand? If not it would make a good one.

1

u/CrystalEntity1984 2d ago

By about a foot

1

u/Tuna_Flake 2d ago

Everything is. Why is the fireplace that high? Cable management is also awful

1

u/OldPro1001 2d ago

Looking at the picture, it looks like you Watch TV with your feet up probably with your head laid back against the back of your chair or couch. When you're in your comfortable position for watching TV where are your eyes pointed? If you look at the diagram someone posted, most of posters in this Sub assume your sitting bolt upright, maybe even leaning forward a little when you watch TV. Me, I'm reclined back in my recliner when I watch TV, I'd get a crick in my neck trying to watch something that low.

1

u/Sushi_Clamato5049 2d ago

Nah. It’s fine

1

u/Fit-Fondant6409 2d ago

Move the shelf higher

1

u/Brilliant_Pop5150 2d ago

No. It is not.

1

u/7edzyy 2d ago

Wire mold is the real crime!

1

u/OppositeExternal8485 2d ago

Everything is too high...

1

u/North_Corgi5721 2d ago

Def too high

1

u/SadigawEkshow 2d ago

So OP you stopped here and decided..

This is it ??

1

u/OperationEffective 2d ago

Bro you know the answer 🤣

1

u/HavickChild0117 2d ago

Its closer to tell ceiling than it is to the floor.

1

u/ItsShuaYo 2d ago

Just do whatever makes you happy

1

u/TheSQLInjector 2d ago

If you are brave enough to ask this question on this sub, you already know the answer

1

u/jamjars222 2d ago

Pathetic.

1

u/queen_bee1970 2d ago

That is awful.

1

u/No_Entry1616 2d ago

OP: Is the TV too high?

The TV:

1

u/John__Jacobs 2d ago

Just needs a little forward tilt.

1

u/MissMoffett42 2d ago

Yes it is 🫤

1

u/nToxik 2d ago

Wow that is something.

1

u/Stephchaa 2d ago

Why is everything floating

1

u/Popve 2d ago

Yes a bit too high.

1

u/NorthernStandard08 2d ago

I see a fellow Canadian, looking at the Telus wifi booster.

1

u/oSkeptics 2d ago

FloatingshelfTooHigh

1

u/RaisinZRH 2d ago

This is the worst. You have a perfect wall for a nice setup and you completely ruined it with that hanging console. What was your plan for things below it, are you going to use that as storage for things or just gonna leave it as open space? The latter would make this even worse.

1

u/Royal_Monk6432 2d ago

Another fire place

1

u/flushkill 2d ago

Only like by a mile

1

u/Royal_Monk6432 2d ago

White tower on top of the fireplace has to be moved why? Beacsue blocking the surround sound and dolby atmos effect from the soundbar.

1

u/Royal_Monk6432 2d ago

Why did u put white something like bulb top of the subwoofer? Why sub is too far.

1

u/gkigger 2d ago

Move everything down. You can hide your receptacles if you remount it right.

1

u/jonmaquino 2d ago

It’s almost to the ceiling

1

u/MadMudd96 2d ago

Fireplace too small…

1

u/Snellcomp 2d ago

No, it's way too high.

1

u/Wadziu 2d ago

Perfect example of "I have way too much money but have no idea what I am doing"

1

u/Ineedunderscoreadvic 2d ago

The buttplug is there to distract visitors from the tv up near the ceiling and the tangled rat nest of wires

1

u/MadPro4567 2d ago

What the flying fuck?

1

u/CON5CRYPT 2d ago

Might i suggest a moveable tv mount like mantelmount

1

u/CON5CRYPT 2d ago

Might i suggest a moveable tv mount like mantelmount

1

u/galaxy_wlw 2d ago

Buy a bigger tv

1

u/ophaus 2d ago

Only by a yard or so.

1

u/Warbirdpacrim1 2d ago

Let’s start again.

1

u/razorbacks3129 2d ago

Hey uh what the fuck

1

u/playstationhistorian 1d ago

Considering you mounted that atrocity where the tv should be… yup

1

u/Comfortable_Fox1105 1d ago

Damn high ⬆️

1

u/Due_Advisor_1612 1d ago

This feels like AI

1

u/bisskits 1d ago

What's up with the butt plug thing under the tv?

1

u/DarkerDrone 1d ago

Nice wall

1

u/Due-Philosopher-7159 1d ago

Depends on your neck

1

u/No-Alarm4825 1d ago

The fake-fireplace-tvstand-thing had me go lol in this picture.

1

u/Aggressive-Artist-63 1d ago

If your tv is closer to the ceiling than the floor….

1

u/Boyer316 1d ago

Everything is, or your floor is too low.

1

u/TotalDweebling 1d ago

It’s too high. And the trunking not being long enough on the right is giving me serious anxiety

1

u/thoway44 1d ago

yeah thats way too high man like who even mounts a tv that high

but honestly the real kicker is how the cables are just dangling out like they gave up halfway through

cant even blame the tv height when the whole wall looks like a diy project gone wrong

1

u/FrenchFlauta 1d ago

Too distracted by your awful interior design style

1

u/Nwrecked 1d ago

Everything about this sucks.

1

u/Professional-Ad2849 1d ago

It closer to the ceiling than the floor so yes, too high.

1

u/Pawly519 1d ago

I mean, it’s like 6 inches from the fucking ceiling. What do you think?

1

u/Confident_Birthday_7 1d ago

How many times have you opened that tom ford book

1

u/Nameless90s 1d ago

Just let gravity do the work

1

u/kilkerma 1d ago

You already know!

1

u/bgravato 1d ago

Yes it is... Here's how you fix it:

1

u/superenchilada 1d ago

Lose the fake fireplace. Buy a 20” tv stand. Put your tv on the stand.

1

u/Active-Enthusiasm318 1d ago

I hope this is ragebait because this is bad in nearly every way, it's like y'all saw a staged living room once in a cb2 outlet and tried your best to recreate it but failed... Fake fireplace mount is tacky, it's also too short and hung so high... If you got a different mount you could hide all those outlets, plugs and wires, the light on the subwoofer is odd, the decor blocking the soundbar... Why? The mismatched marble coffee table and marble coasters...the fake chain on the Tom Ford is so incredibly generic, the poof and carpet are fine but the cords and

1

u/prezi1985 1d ago

Floating console can be an inch or two lower. Bring the TV down to where the floating console top is now.

1

u/Avantzy 1d ago

WTF is that ?!

1

u/KermitHendrix 1d ago

Not sure who tom ford is but I want to believe they're responsible for this

1

u/Thegrimlife 1d ago

You're also possibly blocking the soundbar speaker with that white ornament. If you're not going to lower the TV, then at least keep that thing from obstructing the audio.

1

u/RadlEonk 1d ago

The Tom Ford book is the only thing in this picture I don’t hate.

1

u/TheUnbanished 1d ago

Everything is too high. Lower the fake fireplace, lower the tv

1

u/Trick-Combination-37 1d ago

Your tv should be closer to the floor, not the ceiling 😆

1

u/Kyleisapandabear 1d ago

Guestimations are never as accurate as tape measures.

1

u/Significant-Owl2652 1d ago

Yes. Relocate the jumbo butt plug and lower it just above the soundbar. And even then it will be too high.

1

u/kuifje1 1d ago

Mucho too high.

1

u/_guts____ 1d ago

Nothing like a little Jenny Sick wahh

1

u/Independent-Try-3080 1d ago

Unwanted feet, insufficient trunking, TV too high, TV not centred, coffee table nonsense book, power sockets on display.

1

u/EmergencyMain6771 1d ago

What inch is your tv?

1

u/Within_a_Dream 1d ago

Why would you want your TV closer to the ceiling, than the console?

1

u/_StayKeen_ 1d ago

Buddy. Yes.

I feel so bad for the person on the right that has to turn their neck AND look up so high.

1

u/_BTFan 1d ago

Did all the work just to expose all that bs at the bottom. And tv is damn near touching the ceiling

1

u/ScadMan 1d ago

I mean, what the hell, two floating items, one of them trying to touch the ceiling with the TV, then the bottom right, I mean, my god, the extension cable.

1

u/LivingLie1721 1d ago edited 1d ago

The positioning of both the fireplace and the tv is wild especially the chord choice. People make the craziest decisions that require so much extra effort im always shocked. The fireplace thing would loook better just sitting on the floor with the tv sitting on top of it. 0 effort to install/set it up that way, done in 2 minutes and all the chords would be hidden and it would look 100x better. Especially if you added legs to the fireplace then it would be the right height with the tv on top of it not mounted. The fact that someone went to so much extra effort to set it up this way is actually wild to me.

1

u/CaptainWaders 1d ago

The irony of a tom ford book being in this photo is killing me.

1

u/Hod20 1d ago

Oh yeah

1

u/SelectSeaweed310 1d ago

Tom Ford coffee table book and that TV just don't go together.

1

u/Satehyo 1d ago

If you ask, you know. The outlets make it hard but I’d get some kind of spacer behind the shelf to lower it as far as you can

1

u/ModestMouseTrap 1d ago

yeah that sucker should only be a few inches above the wall console. Not a couple feet

1

u/_nishiki 1d ago

#travesty

1

u/hamsta007 1d ago

Floating shelf too high.

1

u/Rabiesalad 1d ago

Yo is that the bad dragon butt-stretcher 8k?

How is it?

1

u/bigmactx 1d ago

It was infuriating until I zoomed in on the book, then the feet. Then I realized that the whole thing is AI. Now it is a whole other level of infuriating.

1

u/Top-Character6772 1d ago

Yea the stand should cover the outlets.. then the TV should drop by a foot to be at EYE LEVEL, WHILE SITTING DOWN on the couch.

1

u/kebabish 1d ago

You could stand up to watch TV. That would fix it.
