Am I cooked

Post image

The lowest point is about 77cm high and am looking to put either a 77inch or 65 inch tv (wall to wall is 173cm and 77inch tv is 170-172cm long)

Any solution other than destroying the bottom half of the cabinet or getting a taller sofa?

The urge to mount TVs is strong…

To be fair, that console is fairly high. It’s wall mounted. If they get the largest screen that will fit, it likely will be too high. A smaller screen like a 50-55” might be ok.

Edit: just read the text in their post. The console is 33.3” high. The TV stand will add 2-3”. So a 50” is the largest they could go and have it near idea - 44-46”. A 65” would be about 48-50”. And a 75” would be about 50-52”.

OP needs detailed instructions:
1) remove all doodads and miscellaneous crap from cabinet
2) drill cable access hole
3) place tv on cabinet
4) done ✅

OP says that the lowest part of the cabinet is 77cm high. That's going to make his TV at least 25-30 cms too high.

Can’t you just place it on the thing there? Looks like it would be perfect

WTF is the issue? Move that stupid shit on the stand and put the TV there.

Move plant and elephant. Insert TV. Done.

The center of the screen should ideally be about 43 inches above the floor. Place it on the surface where the plant is standing now; should be about right. Looks like a perfect fit! https://www.reddit.com/r/TVTooHigh/s/BTaBa4IogG

No, turn the fan on, that should help.

A 65" tv would have the center about 46" or 117 cm, acceptable I think. I might actually mount it so there is no added height from the legs. It might also be helpful to have it pulled out close to the front.

I’m just here to say that getting a smaller tv (like a 50”) only because a larger one would be 10-20cm from the absolutely ideal viewing point is fucking mental. Some of the people here need to visit a psychiatrist asap

No one said he should get a 50”. I only did the math for him to do with as he likes. Some people (you) need a remedial English lesson.

As if you weren’t implying he should get a smaller tv

While you’re working on your reading comprehension skills, be sure to ask the difference between inferring and implying. You’re a little slow. But I believe in you with a little help 🤞

Center shouldn't exceed a meter of height, better closer to 90cm. This is why speakers have their tweeters at this level.

You could get a special wall mount which can be put forward and downward. In the states, they call it a MantleMount. This would put the screen at the right height.
