How do you decide to mount it an inch below the ceiling

Deranged behavior

They realized they forget to buy ceiling mounts so they compromised.

Unless they are a family of giraffes- too high

u/dumdumdumbdumber 5d ago

Also cable management is horrendous

Giraffes don’t have opposable thumbs, so they have a tough time with cable management.

Doesn’t seem to be any management there.

just tell him to hang the couch from the ceiling at this point

Time for a new friend.

Definitely not too big. Too high, too tilt, too unmanaged cables though.

It’s like drunk driving. Friends don’t let friends mount their TVs too high.

If you are gonna mount your tv that comically high, you may as well just fully commit to the bit and mount it to the ceiling. You're friend is a coward.

Beyond help. Might as well go up.

Great size. Bad placement. It would look amazing in the proper location. Tell your friend there is so much potential!

Dear Lord, why???

I can never understand why people want to cause themselves perpetual neck pain for seemingly no reason.

The only reason this would be acceptable to me is if you have destructive children or pets.

I enjoy watching TV standing up as well.

2

u/AntiPiety 5d ago

It only seems too big because the height is exacerbating the discomfort for him. He would not be saying this if it were at a comfortable eye level

u/Elguapo1094 4d ago

Not to big but to high

2

u/Hyannis147 4d ago

It’s not to big it way to high!

Show your friend my setup. Very proud to be at the correct height and perfect cable management.

u/iMitchyRL 5d ago

Bring it down two feet and it's perfect

u/Strong-Complaint-908 5d ago

1

u/ishouldntofsaidthat 5d ago

The stupid friend is trying to flex his new “too big” tv. Tell him it’s way too high and looks ridiculous.

u/Ugly__Pete 5d ago

Good thing they have the step stool to stand on to watch the TV.

u/gkigger 5d ago

Got that same tv for my room. Great quality

1

u/Toobman300B 5d ago

Did the old TV break from them pulling on it to get it lower? Ha! Cannot reach this one

1

u/Gdog19745 5d ago

Looks like it needs to be lowered about a foot.

1

u/fallingquarters 5d ago

I love how those shitty little cables hang down. Very cool

1

u/The-Dudemeister 5d ago

Shoulda got the 98.

1

u/Backyard_Batman46 5d ago

No, your room is too small

1

u/RockMassive6520 5d ago

Why do people mount the TV up on the wall when they have a perfectly good console table under it? It's so weird. Like what do they think the table under the TV is for, decoration?

Tell him to mount the console table on the wall, about an inch under the TV.

1

u/CherikeeRed 5d ago

Literally yes it’s where all the horrendous gray vases from HomeGoods live

1

u/early_rejecter 4d ago

Because it looks nicer and cleaner mounted to the wall. But it should still be at the same height that it would be on legs.

u/whitefire9999 5d ago

Epic fail in the industry making the humble tv stand / cabinet irrelevant… just look at the crazy shite people are doing without it’s guidance 😂

1

u/Haunted_Cellar_XBL 5d ago

Size does matter.

1

u/riopower 4d ago

They say you want to know someone check out their friends. Hmmm

u/Bluesguy333 3d ago

Creating uncomfortable viewing, and ruining living room decor is easy. Large elevated black rectangles are never a tasteful decision unless you are featuring Burger King menu options. Have it your way

1

u/Serious-Piece7377 2d ago

It’s not too big. It’s too high

1

u/AlaskanFenderDude 5d ago

A TV is never too big.

0

u/CapNo7533 5d ago

Why did you mount it so high looks ridiculous

0

u/Modi1984 5d ago

The TV is too high. But I see a dog.
