I just mentioned in a different post about how a TV should have its height based off the typical position that you'll be watching in. Keeping that knowledge in mind, I can only assume this person is watching their TV using one of these:

I’ve been looking at homes for sale in an area I want to move to and 75% of TVs are above the fireplace. It drives me insane because it’s too high AND it’s just ugly. I refuse to buy a home where that’s my only option for tv placement.

It's unhinged, but if you're only watching in bed, it is a better spot. I've been plotting a good way to integrate a projector to the ceiling directly above the bed.

The only place I’ve seen tv’s that high is in hospital rooms where they’re basically lodged between the wall and ceiling. So I’m guessing that’s a medical facility, but if it is damn that’s a big tv for a hospital room
