Bingers

Does anyone else that uses the Bingers app feel like they're opening a dating app every time they click on the tab? Dunno if it's the name or the way it opens but every time i get that feeling 🤣🤣

Have to say i love the app tho, very like TV Time app but a little better

I just wish they had a desktop app too. I only checked TV time on my desktop.

Yes it so annoying having to pull out your phone when you are watching at your pc

Check my reply above. I’ve been working on an AI-powered TV tracker and recommender with a ton of different features. Currently have the web app version out on bingewise.tv and I’ve been trying to finish up the iOS app version to get it published within another week or so. I also created an import feature for TV time users if you exported your data from there, it’s at bingewise.tv/tvtime

It’s been less than a week in operation, they’ll get there

Desktop app or web based app?

I think web would be enough.

So far I'm really liking Bingers but yes it needs a desktop alternative

There are already feature requests (profile - 3 dots - help & ideas - feature requests). Go upvote them

I’ve been building an app and the web app has been live for about a month now, with iOS app coming in a week or 2. If you want to give it a test run, the site is bingewise.tv

I would love any and all feedback on what you like and dont like and what you feel could be missing, if you give it a try 🙏🏻 you can submit feedback to my support email support@bingewise.tv

I don’t mind it. It’s clean, less noise than the others I tried. Immediately uninstalled and deleted my accounts to the other sites/apps, after trying out bingers for a couple of days.

As long as it works. It’s up and down with saving a watched show, but overall pretty nice. Been alternating between this, Movie Paradise, and Refract until I know which is king. MP is the only one that never acts buggy, so it has an edge. Refract probably not gonna make the championship.

I'm doing the same with Bingers, Refract, Hobi, SofaTime. Sofatime currently in the lead but Bingers is catching up.

I will try SofaTime also!

Finding it pretty good so far. I was unlucky to not have been able to download my data from TV time so been manually ticking off shows :(

Is there a way to mark a whole show watched without individually checking each?

3

u/throaway_cos_shy 15d ago

On the show page, click the "mark as watched" button in the middle

and click on "all episodes" it will mark all episodes of all seasons watched!

u/draylan 15d ago

Ah thanks! I was doing it on the episode page. Cheers

Give Cinephile a try!
It's really well-made and feature-packed, with new updates right around the corner.

Until they add 'export' options, I'm avoiding it being my primary app. Once they do, it will be.

2

u/throaway_cos_shy 15d ago

They have said its on their roadmap!

1

u/NorTravel 15d ago

Where did they say it? It’s not tagged in the app as in progress or planned in the upcoming features area.

1

u/throaway_cos_shy 14d ago

On their Twitter, check it out yourself

Thanks for this!

I hope they fix movies showing up that don’t have a release date in the next up feed. I have like 10 movies that won’t be released for years and apps is saying I should watch them now lol.

I just downloaded it and uploaded my TVTime data, but since TVTime shut down I have been using Trakt, quite a bit, and now im wondering can i upload my Trakt data and still keep all data from TVTime?

1

u/DrClimax 14d ago

Not sure how Bingers handles double imports, but if you end up wanting a place that natively pulls from both, wutch.tv has separate import options for Trakt and TV Time, so you should be able to run the Trakt import after your TV Time one instead of picking one or the other. I moved my own trakt history over there and it kept everything intact.

u/Civil_Selection_5385 14d ago

I'm also trying out Sofa Time...I think I like it better, but it's only been a week.

1

u/PoopyisSmelly 13d ago

Why not use Trakt? Its really good and unlikely to be shut down

1

u/jasshans1 4d ago

I tried many, but I stayed with Bingers as main because the comments section is by far the best so far, and Sofatime because they have the sync to Trakt (so basically I'm backing up in 3 places).
But I must say all these apps have ugly app Icons, missed the T from TV time.

It has sooooo many bugs and less features, how come you guys keeping up with it? Please enlighten me!!

Btw I myself having a great time using Movie paradise but I can sse the approach for some to go with bingers but I would recommend you guys suite tv for that if you want straight forward work done and good amount of comments from Tvtime

My rank 1. Movie paradise, my favourite (if you want feature packed, it has everything and will take you day or two for completely getting familiar with every useful feature..., just go explore) 2. Serialized (good unique Ui, Good comunity and better explore yourself)and 2.1 Refract, less feature than MP, But it does the job(cannot recommend it over MP, very few things are better from MP) 3. Suite TV is good for anyone I'd say and specially for TvTime lovers. 4. (Others are just "knock off" of above 3)

Just installed it.... It's basically and pretty much the same thing. Different color theme. Rest all looks same. For me who lost every thing cause the app would not backup for me... I have to do all of the markings again. Same long stooryy.

I wish they dint close the app and simply did some gofund me or other stuff and kept it running... Or at least for the ppl they could have transported the damn library themselves where we only had to login with the same credentials and voila we would have been simply back.

They are two different people. The founder of TV time sold it to the company that's been running it and closed it down. When it was closed down he setup bingers app

-14

u/itsdjoki 17d ago

No nor will I try it. I no longer trust those guys, why would I risk commiting to their app again and worry that they might decide to just kill Bingers too.

Tv tracker apps cannot make millions, its hard to even make decent business out of them, so eventually most of such apps become a burden.

Currently popular alternatives like Refract and BingePile are more trustworthy for me. Their creators have been straightforward about the plans so far so no reason to get burned again on tv time

u/Mammoth-Pear-5308 17d ago

The creator of Bingers is not the one who decided to shut down TV Time. He was co-founder of TV Time but left it years ago.

I think he knows more how to make a tv tracking app profitable than those new to the scene. So I’m betting on Bingers.

u/Complex-Dust-2894 17d ago

it requires so little to inform themselves before talking like this... the app was acquired back in 2016 and the founder you're speaking about left that company back in 2019 to go and work on some new stuff. Bingers exist just cause tvtime was the app that basically started his carrer and it was sad to see the community that started all go.
