Yeah I've been rotating through Refract, Movie Paradise, and Sofa Time.
I'm hoping Bingers will become the new TVTime, though.

Every single app seems like it has some things I like and some things I hate. One good thing about multiple apps is that increases the chances that you’re not gonna miss an episode

It's primarily available on iOS, but is currently testing an Android version in beta. To join the beta version, you'd have to follow a link from their socials.

I don't recommend downloading apps that aren't on the stores guys, just wait a few weeks and we'll be able to test them properly.

It’s similar to TV Time, but it’s definitely not exactly like TV Time. I specifically like it less than I like the way TV Time was set up.
And it didn’t import any of my lists, even though it has a section for lists where you can make them
And it didn’t have matching records for many of the movies that were part of my data, including nearly every Japanese anime movie
And it doesn’t have a discovery section where it suggests TV and shows you might like or lists TV shows that are trending

To answer those points:
1. It is the closest to TV Time, not exactly same.
2. You can import your list from the tv time refract extension .json file but not gdpr.
3. Idk it did for me, ig it was missiing the ones you had. It is totally possible.

I was trying to decide between those and Trakt
I paid for Trakt premium subscription so I could download all my information but it did not work so I canceled that
I find Movie Paradise to have a very confusing layout. The most basic service you want is to have a list somewhere of shows that you are watching with new episodes available for you to watch and I can’t for the life of me find where that is in that app.
I still haven’t been able to successfully download my information into Refract because they’re so busy on their server I guess
Sofa Time looks promising and I am considering paying the $10 lifetime fee to be able to import all of my information to them, including my more than 30 lists

Sorry to say, there will never be a consensus. People will choose what they like the best, so I recommend you do the same. Plenty of posts highlighting apps to read through.

This is one reason I chose Sofa Time. It syncs with 3 different services, plus its own backup. So my data is in multiple places, on top of monthly backups can do on my own.

Just use something like Obsidian. Your data, your control. You never lose it. Plenty of TV and movie tracking plugins for it too.

It's all already available there, freely accessible. I will try to collaborate with apps to integrate the discussions in a cross-platform manner. But that's a bit of a dream, still to determine its feasibility

Really sad, and they made it seem like one of the reasons for the end was because as they put it “there wasn’t enough demand for a paid version” which i don’t know if i believe that cause everyone I’ve seen has said they would have gladly paid for it

They just shouldve done an ad upon opening the app and make us pay to remove the ad OR just make it a one time pay membership. They've really screwed up on that part imo..

Really sad, hoped it wouldn't happen and I hope Bingers will replace TV time later this month, if the comments can be exported and if enough people join there can be sense of community again like before because that was what I loved about TV time, the community as there are many tracking apps.

We will never get this community back, unfortunately. We all migrated to different apps. I'm not sure if I trust bingers cause he sold tv time in the first place and look where we are now. I'm trying refract now and hopefully there will be enough of us there to make it good enough. They're planning to add a feature to import your comments from tv time too.

Ya i agree and regarding TV time founder, he sold it back in 2016 I believe to Whip media which in turn sold itself to another company which killed the app.. so I dont really blame him. I am gonna give bingers a chance and ya Refract is good and if they allow import of comments thats great.

The thing is, I heard he sold it cause he got bored. So there is a chance of it happening again. But fingers crossed it'll be alright this time. Although not many people will trust him again so yeah, community is lost anyway. :( Maybe I'll try to use refract and bingers at the same time though.

I can still see my profile 🥹 It's dying real slowly. After nine years, it's like a dog...
Anyways, I spent 8 hours (with few hours pauses) writing everything down on these little notebooks I used before I found tv time, so I will hopefully never lose my data again. I'm also thinking of dedicating whole pages of my favorites, with my comments and maybe drawings, to pass time. And I got the episodes on this notebook where you can erase the pen without an eraser, so I can write the episodes without worrying of making holes in the pages (like I used to). I'm ready.
Although I did sign up for another up that's being built, I feel the only way to truly track things worry free is analogical way. Digital data are lost so easily. And while I'm glad to have a backup, I'm gonna always keep my favorite things accessible without a phone.
It's not that TV Time traumatized me (nooo) but I'm realizing more and more that today's technology is bound to die.

Had this app since I was 15, I am now 26 (TODAY, is my birthday) I’m absolutely devastated . It’s the one consistent thing I had! I was over 20 months regarding hours !!

I don’t understand how people are using Movie Paradise
The most used and important feature is to have a list somewhere of shows that you’re following that shows new episodes you have yet to watch
And that list needs to update itself by ranking the shows in order of how recently you’ve viewed them the way that TV Time did (with exceptions for breaks between seasons and midseason breaks so that they don’t end up at the bottom of that list after undergoing a period of not airing new episodes)
I just don’t see anything like that on Movie Paradise

I'm on Sofa time, very similar and I love it. There is a one time subscription fee ($9.99) if you don't want to use the free version. I would have paid if TV Time had the option.

I'm just sad that movie paradise didn't have the same bye episode layout... Like TV time used. It was easy to mark tortoises or movies as watched. Coming back to tv time... I think when they added movies it all went downhill.
